No credit card. :||||Call them. They can oly say no.

If they allow it, you will have to leave a deposit similar to the "hold" which is placed on a credit card. Think about putting down an additional night at the least to cover any damage which you may do to the room or any charges you may incur.|||the nickelodeon hotel is not like a hotel that you can just walk in and pay for a room for the night. you have to make reservations to ensure there will be a room available.
you will have to give a credit card number to hold the room for you and most likely you will have to actually pay for the stay using the credit card or a check prior to arriving.

http://www.nickhotel.com/|||My nephew had his birthday party there last year. I was 21 at the time and enjoyed it. The pool was great. Around 3 pm they had games and this big bucket full of slim fell. They had a 3d theater. They also have a arcade and had lots of tournaments. The rooms have a ps2. By the pool they had a basketball court and a mini-golf course. By the theater they had shows and at 11 they have karaoke. Any questions feel free to email me.|||Nickelodeon Suites Resort is a great place to celebrate a Kid's Birthday. But it is a tad bit pricey to stay there. In the summer the lowest rate for a room is $200 a night.

My suggestion is if you really want to do it at this resort, then make a reservation for 1 night, celebrate, and then check out and go to a different resort in Orlando.|||Yes, if you can afford it do it:) Just know that is cost like 150 and up per night. The rooms are great, they are nicely decorated in the nick themes, and characters are always roaming about. The only problem I found with the hotel was the kids did not want to leave to do anything else:) Have a great trip:)|||If you can afford it, then absolutely go for it! Your son will have a great time, and it will be a memory he (and you) will cherish for a lifetime!|||yes of course i loved it when i went and my little niece loved it and shes four its going to be fun for you and him your going to have a blast promise especially if he loves nick|||Yes even though it can be expensive i believe your son is the perfect age to really enjoy that place.|||Yeah that sounds really fun, he'll love it.

I hear the nickelodeon hotel is super expensive...is it worth it? I have a 4 yr old son and 12 yr old daughter|||We stayed for a long weekend in March with two 13 year olds and had a great time. It was two moms and two 13 year old girls, american express travel had a great deal for this hotel where if you stayed 2 nights the third night was free. Pay attention though as there is a $25 per day resort fee added to the nightly rate. Even with this, the overal rate was still very reasonable. The location is convenient; 15 min from the airport, close to the highway, 1 mile from Disney and 15 min from Universal. Check in was quick and efficient. It is a relatively large complex and if you come back after 10 you may night find parking in front of your building but there is plenty overall.

The room has a living area with pull out couch, refrig and micro, small bedroom with bunk beds and larger bedroom with a queen, 3 tvs and a bath. Very comfortable and clean. There are 2 large pool areas with water slides. One pool was closed part of the day while we were there because a toddler "guest" had an accident in the pool. The staff was efficient in getting everyone out and treating the pool. (If you child is not fully trained or just recently trained put a swim diaper on them).

I thought our 13 year old would be way past going to character breakfasts etc but they loved it. The food was good and at $18 per person a little expensive but not bad considering the entertainment and food. (Also with AMEX we received a $50 resort food credit) so it was fun and worth it for one morning.

Overall we had a great time, hotel was convenient, clean and had good amenities for the price. Would stay there again.|||I've heard mixed reviews about the Nick Hotel. It's definitely more expensive than other neighboring hotels, even with their special offers. They have a shuttle to the major local attractions, but they haven't been affiliated with a theme park for years - so no line perks/early entry there. The most complaints are in regard to overall appearance (wear and tear), and poor customer service - but that's sadly true of almost all family hotels these days. The food available is what you'd typically find at an airport - chain store, overpriced, not the best quality. But, the activities available are specifically geared toward different age groups, so both your kids should be able to have plenty of fun during their stay.|||I have never been to Florida, but it sounds like Nickelodeon Hotel is a themed Hotel and my experiences with theme hotels is that they are definitely more expensive then their non-themed counterparts. Other hotels in the area are sure to be less expensive, unless your kids are set on the Nickelodeon Hotel. You might have to bite the bullet and have fun.|||Hello

I am planning a trip to the Nickelodeon Hotel in Orlando. Can anyone tell me about it, pros and cons? I ONLY want info from this specific hotel. Thanks :)|||I went there last year with my husband and 5 year old daughter. Pros: My daughter LOVED this hotel. In fact, she liked the hotel better than Disney itself. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by Blue from Blue's Clue. You need at least a day to enjoy the many activities that the hotel has. The hotel has water park/slides, huge pool area, game arcade, and mini-golf areas that are a lot of fun for kids. They have a food court area which is nice for cheap foods for kids. They also have a buffet and restaurant if you are not in the mood for fast food. They have face painting, shows, and slime time games duing the day. My daughter loved the character breakfast where she met Dora, Spongebob, Patrick, and the Fairy Oddparents. The hotel is located right outside Disney World. You could not get any closer to Disney unless you were staying in the park. My daughter also loved her Spongebob room.

Cons: Check-In took forever. The hotel accomodation are ok. Nothing Special. The suite kitchen consists of a sink, mini refrigerator and microwave. I do prefer at least 4 star accomodation. The hotel accomodation are more 2-3 stars. Not the best, but what the hotel offers overall is worth it. The hotel is loud, which could bother people. I advise not having a room facing the pools or on the first floor, if that would be a problem for you. Food was ok. My husband didn't care at all for the buffet. Would I stay here again if I didn't have kids? No. Would I stay here again because of my daughter? Absolutely.

Also, I purchased a non Spongebob room for $50 less a night. To our suprised when we checked into our room, we discovered that they still gave us the Spongebob room anyways. So save your money and get a non-Spongebob because you might luck out and get it anyways. You have to be a guest at this hotel to enjoy it's amenities. For what it offers, it was worth it. Have fun!|||It is loud.|||i just booked it through travel zoo---i've never stayed there, but heard great things--kids eat free 5 and under, pools are great~~|||The Nick hotel is pretty cool, it kind of makes me wish I was a kid again! It is probably one of the best hotels for kids in the area, since most of the things are already included. Disney and Universal's hotels offer a lot of great things for kids as well, but not everything is included, such as Disney's kids programs.

The pool area is a blast for the kids, so much to do, like a water park in its own. They also have a lot of other activities each day, as well as shopping and some restaurants. I think a lot of people go to Orlando just to stay here and don't even do the parks. I think it would depend a little on your kids ages how much fun they would have, but I'm sure they would love it. Also, the characters in the room are really awesome and big hit with the little ones.

The only negatives would be that it isn't always as much fun for adults. There really isn't much offered for adults, and it can be a little noisy, not quite as relaxing as some of the other hotels in the area. Also, the food doesn't change, so if you plan to eat at the hotel most of the time, it can get a little old. Finally, the rooms aren't all that big, especially considering they are suites. You have to really look into what is included in the room as not everything is included in a 2 bedroom that may be in a 1 bedroom, odd but true. When you see the room, it does look like it is a Holiday Inn, nothing too special, unless you get the room with the characters, and even then it is just a small area. I've not stayed in a Holiday Inn, but I'm going to assume the resort has similar quality to what you would see at a Holiday Inn. I've only stayed at this resort for two nights to see what it was like, and because I went with some friends who had younger kids. I was a little dissapointed with how the rooms were kept up and other little things regarding cleaning around the resort. And again, the resort can be a little noisy with the pool and things and the walls are a little thin. In my opinion, I think the resort is a little over priced, considering the room, but overall it is a great place, especially for kids.

I'll include a link to Trip Advisor where you will find many more reviews of the hotel.

Hope this helps!

My husband, daughter and I will be staying at the Nick hotel this month and I was wondering if anyone had their daughter go to the spa there and how much do the services cost? We got a great deal on the room because it's not peak season now so I hope the salon doesn't end up costing us more than the room. Also, do you know the price of the character breakast? The last time we stayed at the hotel it was still a Holiday Inn, and the website doesn't list prices. One more..at night you can drop off your child for a kid only activities night that has the slime, etc. If your child went, did they think it was worth it? Thanks!|||Great questions! I contacted the Nickelodeon Family Suites to get your answers, because you're right -- this stuff isn't anywhere on the website. Here's what I found out:

    1) Prices for the Kids Spa range, obviously, according to the treatment your child chooses. A manicure costs $20 and up, and a pedicure $30 and up. Hairbraiding runs from $50 to $200, and a hair wrap cost $2 per inch. The Kids Spa also offers temporary tattoos, and those vary from $6 to $16, depending on which one your child chooses.

    2) As for the character breakfast, the price is $19.95 for adults, and $10.95 for kids ages 2 through 12.

Hope that helps -- have a fabulous vacation!

Can anyone tell me their experience with Nickelodeon and/or Discovery Cove, Orlando Florida?
Planning on going there Thanksgiving weekend.
What we need to know about both places.
Hidden charges?|||First off, you need to know that Thanksgiving weekend will be slammed with people. Discovery Cove will not be as bad as they limit attendance to 500 people.

Nickelodeon Hotel is a great hotel for kids, one of my favorites off-Disney property. It has separate rooms for the kids and adults, as well as a central "living area." The pool is also very kid friendly and they have daily entertainment for the kids with the Nickelodeon characters, as well as entertainment for adults. They do charge a per night service charge that they say is for their transportation, entertainment, pool, etc. It is $20 plus tax per night, so this could add a bit to your cost, depending on your length of stay.

    Hunter Kelly
http://www.guide2disney.com|||Discovery Cove is amazing PLUS the tag they give you is also a 7day ticket to Sea world :D so that's really cool you will have a great time careful though there main pool with fish has a unnoticed drop off so watch where you walk because its easy to fall. I have not stayed at the Hard Rock Cafe but i do know you can go into the park an hour early unless they stopped doing that. I don't think there is any hidden charges and I'm not sure about the nick hotel because i also have not stayed there.|||My husband and I went to Discovery Cove in May 2002 and we loved it. We actually got engaged there. When we went, we arrived a little before opening time and from the time we drove into the parking lot, it was beautiful. We went and got our equipment and then we to explore the waters. Our dolphin encounter was at 10:30 I think so we went an did that and then we went and ate lunch. The lunch was great, very good. We spent the rest of the day swimming and taking pictures. We can't wait to go back, even if we don't do the dolphin encounter but I think at least one person in your party has to do the encounter in order to get reservations. You also can get a pass to SeaWorld which I also recommenend. We go there at least once a year when we go to Universal Studios. As far as I know, Discovery Cove did not have any hidden charges. Plus it is pretty warm there year round and they give you a wetsuit you can wear which helps keep you warm because the coral reef is pretty cool.|||Hey! I love them both!!!

Nick Hotel: It was really nice! The rooms are themed like different Nick characters. The mostly have 1 to 2 bedrooms with half of a kitchen in a way and a little living room. You can choose between a Nick Toons room or a Nick At Nite Room. They have to different water parks at the hotel. They both are really alike. They have all different kinds of waterslides and a pool. and a play area in the water. They also have a basketball court for you to play on and a put-put course. They have a character dining and different things. They have a spa and kids spa. They also have a bar for the adults. I really enjoyed my expeirence there. It was not the best hotel but it was pretty nice.

Discovery Cove is a really nice place, too. You get to swim with dolphins and snorkel and all of that kind of cool stuff. They have things where you just snorkel by a Coral Reef and see all these different kinds of fish. You also can feed some birds. I have not been there yet, but tons of my friends said they had a blast. Here is all the attractions:
    Dolphin Swim
    Coral Reef
    Tropical River Swim
    Ray Lagoon(I hate stingerays!lol.)
    Aviary
    Resort Pool
You can look at these activities at:

If you have kids I would understand why you would like to go to Nick Hotel, but if you would like a nice condo type room that has a mini waterpark and is big I would look into Floridays Orlando Resort. It was REALLY nice. It was not expensive at all and you got 3 bedrooms a full kitchen and a living room and balcony. We stayed there for four nights and only had to pay $700. It also is REALLY close to Seaworld. You can probably walk there, but it might take a while. They do have shuttle service which is very nice. They have a starbucks and about 3 pools and one has a mini waterpark. You can look at the website at:
    http://urlwww--floridaysresortorlando--c鈥?/a>

    Thanks! Hope this helped!!

p.s. The hardrock hotel is very nice. I also love Universal. I think it might me packed, but not that bad as summer. I am taking some people might want to go with kids because school would be on a break, but a lot of peole like to visit family.

There are really no hidden charges, but I am pretty sure you have to pay for transportation at the Nick Hotel. Hardrock is free. I am almost 100% sure!|||ewww... i wouldnt bring my kids there.|||Discovery Cove Is awsome, and well worth it in my opinion, I went there with a seaworld adventure camp

Whats up w/ that? Its not fair|||They, like parts of California, have the same type of weather all year long. Companies make more money if their parks can be open 365 days a year, opposed to 4-5 months of summer.|||Disney, Universal, Seaworld and the soon to be opened Legoland are all owned by private companies..
They invested their own money and nobody forced them to come to the Orlando area. Walt Disney himself selected the Orlando area. Many reasons,, Huge population on the east coast. A great amount of water and lakes, about as far north without having to close for the winter, on one interstate and close to two others, good local airport and so on. Many others have tried the area and have failed.
Cypress Gardens was here way before Disney and finally failed. You say It's not fair. That's your opinion.|||Well, there's good weather so tourists already come here. Then it's near water, so you have opportunities for beach-side resorts, cruises, and good ports. Then they only need one on each side of the country (most likely, another Disney won't open in the US) because people will be willing to travel for it.
Also, people don't go to Ohio on vacation. They go to Florida. It's just good marketing sense.|||Because we are the number one vacation destination in the world. THis is mostly thanks to disney. After they moved here and became so popular the rest of the companies moved here to take some of the money from the people visiting here. Its fun living in orlando|||Because it's an easy location for them to be open all year around.

Taking my 4 year old daughter there for 4 nights 5 days in mid Jan 2011 right now on the hotel website its $77 plus tax a night during that week should i book it at this rate or wait & see if a better deal comes out? As anyone been there during January & gotten a better rate?|||That is the off-season price, meaning that is about as low as you will ever find it. Go ahead and book, you are going to be missing anything better.|||That's a very good rate...we get florida special rates for like $119 in the summer (busy season)...Jan is very light as kids are in school. Why January? You know you most likely won't be able to use their great swimming facilities as it will probably be too cold? And as for doing disney, january is iffy, it may be spectacular (70/50) or if we have a big cold front it can be in the 40's (or lower), add in a little wind and WDW can be pretty uncomfortable. Why not consider after spring break but before summer? Like mid may is perfect...light crowds, warm not hot weather...anyway just my 2 cents|||That is a great price. The hotel is great, I've stayed there. But you have to have a high tolerance for screaming kids everywhere. My children loved it. Do be aware that it doesn't offer much for adults. The main draw of that hotel is the great water-park they have, which you might not be able to use. We went in late March during spring break, and it was packed. we had a great time, and spent full days without leaving the hotel property. Anyway, 77 seems like a great off-season rate.|||77/night is good at any specialty hotel.|||That's a really good deal, usually its like over $100 a night.

I plan on using there transportation so please give me any information you can on there transportation system, as well as the room overview.|||Well, I've stayed at the Nick Hotel and to be honest, it is for children ages 2-10 because all the hotel activities are for kids. The Residence Inn is wonderful but if you want a more luxurious hotel, then go to the Blue Heron. So if you are going to theme parks every day, go to the Residence Inn and if you are just staying at your hotel, go to the Blue Heron.|||I haven't stayed at any of these, but Expedia and Travelocity both have guest reviews when you select a specific hotel.
I have stayed in the Holiday Inn on International Drive. I don't recommend that one.
My advise though is if you're going to stay on International Dr. is to pick a hotel with a "higher number address." Anything 800+ would be safe.
The Holiday Inn is like 6515 or close to that. The lower numbers seemed to be in an older part of International Dr. and not as nice!
Plus, a lot of the hotels on International Dr. allow dogs because of the convention center on International Dr. (dog shows).
All Holiday Inns allow dogs, probably with some restrictions, but the Nickelodeon is run by Holiday Inn, at least it used to be.
When we stayed at that Holiday Inn my son and I both got several flee bites! I'd imagine that some of the better hotels clean their carpets more often...|||Why Dont you Try My intergrated Custom Search on Google

If you're planning to visit the Disney parks your best bet is to stay on-property in one of the value resorts. By staying on-property you get better bus service to and from the parks, extra magic hours, and more! If you're wanting to stay near Animal Kingdom your best bet is one of the All-Star resorts which are right down the street from AK and all very nice. If you wish to be in a more central location on property try the Pop-Century resort which is a bit closer to the other parks. There are actually 3 All-Star resorts (Movies, Music, and Sports) with Movies generally being the best for families.
Check out http://www.allears.net/acc/faq_hot.htm#v鈥?/a> for links to info about Disney's value resorts!

Have fun at WDW!|||For the money and convenience I would stay on Disney property. If you don't want to stay in a Disney resort, you might think about one of the resorts in Downtown Disney or the Swan and Dolphin which are in Epcot. Those resorts are owned by other companies and sometimes run discounts on their web sites.|||The rooms are small, but so are Disney's economy hotels, the biggest perk about the Nick hotel it that it's so close to Animal Kingdom.

Personally I prefer staying at the Disney hotels, they're all very clean, and offer bus transportation to and from the theme parks, as well as a lot to do at the hotels themselves.

If it's your first time going to Disney World you'll save yourself a lot of aggravation by taking the buses, the parks aren't all right near each other like most people assume, and people drive like madmen in the Orlando area.|||I have never visited t but I have been to it and it looks like a very good hotel in close proximity to Disney World. It very kids oriented so your kids should love it.|||The nick hotel got best kids hotel in the orlando magazine this past year...personally I like to stay on property at disney...their budget hotels are pretty good and you get bus service to all the parks...I stay at the contemporaray when we go...but that's kinda pricey...but i love the monorail thru the hotel deal.|||If cost is an issue, then stay on Disney property. If you are flying in you have free transportation to and from the airport. Also once you are on Disney property you will have free transporation to and from all the theme parks, hotels, waterparks and downtown disney.

That being said, you can also purchase discount disney tickets from an authorized reseller like Orlando Fun Tickets ( http://www.OrlandoFunTickets.com ) I used them and they can deliver to a Disney hotel.

Anyways I hope this helps!|||I personally worked in the Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn, and to tell you the truth, if you can get pass the costly price tag {which can land you anywhere from USD$250.00 to USD$700.00}, it is an incredible place to take your children. They will have a blast in the 2 HUGE theme park-sized pools. And you can enjoy yourself at the Nick at Nite bar and lounge {if you're into that}. There are fitness centers around, and the kids can enjoy the arcade as well as the Nickelodeon characters walk around the "food court/mall area". All in all, it is worth every penny. It just depends on how many pennies you want to spend.|||I took my daughter to the NIck hotel last summer and it was great because you don't even need to go to the parks. There is so much to do there, just make sure the weather is good for swimming. I reserved through travelzoo.com, you can sign up your e-mail address and they send you the weekly specials. nickelodeon hotel??? how fun is it? I was thinking of taking my 9 yr old daughter just for a getaway. I live in florida...When is the cheaper rates?|||Here's a link to the specials section of their site. Since all of the rooms are suites of some kind, it seems as if they're slighly more expensive than other area hotels. Unfortunately, they don't list when their cheaperr rack rates are; however, if I had to guess, I'd say that mid-week is usually less expensive than weekends if you want to go in the summer. Or, any time that's NOT a vacation time for area schools is usually less expensive at hotels around here.

A friend of mine stayed at the Nick Hotel with her 3 kids when Joe from Blues Clues was there and they had an excellent time. She said it was the most fun she's had with her kids.

I live in las Vegas and want to fly to Minneapolis MN and back.... It was like 109$ each way and the next day I looked it was 189-199$ each way. I was looking on a Thursday and then on Friday they were expensive and they still haven't went back down. My flight would be end of July to mid August.
Anyone else know of a cheaper airline for Vegas to MN? Im 17 and dont have a ton of cash|||When you see a flight that is within your budget, you have to buy it immediately because the ticket price can change really quickly. Since you are flying during the summer months, I doubt the ticket prices will drop much if any. You can check out http://www.kayak.com and http://www.southwest.com to see what you can find.|||See my answer to the last time you posted this.

  • Ok I am a big aviation enthusiast, I've never been on an airliner before. I am wanting to go on a 737-700 or a 737-800 or a 737-300 from Southwest airlines, Sun country airlines, or airtran airways.
I want a seat ahead of the wing and a view of the engine yet still be in coach and these airlines are the only ones. I live out of MSP and am not going anywhere for any purpose other than a jet ride. I wish I could get a tour of these airline's jets and see the seat name I'd perfer. please answer as if you were me.. Thanks|||I would check out http://www.seatguru.com just as Roger mentioned. Then go to AirTran or Sun Country to book your flight. You can select what seat you want to sit in. The problem with Southwest is that you cannot select what seat you sit in as they board by number. You are given a number when you check-in instead.|||Take a look at seatguru.com. That site has seat layout for all plane on all airlines. You will be able to see which seats, if any, are ahead of the wings for any equipment type.|||Southwest is the best out of those three, then AirTran, then Sun Country. Maybe you should plan a vacation to go along with this because most people don't pay hundreds of dollars just to see what flying is like. They actually go somewhere and make it worth it.

Hair Straightener through airport security.. carry on?
Okay tomorrow I'm going to DFW Airport to Sun Country Airlines in DFW on a trip to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Was just wondering if I can take my hair straightener in my duffel bag as a carry on? and do I have to put it into a bin when they do the x-ray or can I just leave it in my bag? I"m a first time flying.

And I already have everything packed including my 3.oz liquids in a quart size zip lock bag. i know those need to go into the bin including my laptop. But if you'd like to give me some information, tips, etc.. please do so would be helpful.

    Thank you!
Melissa <3~|||Yes, it will be just fine, so don't worry about it. If the security folks question what it is, they will open the bag and take a look. (The duffel bag will go through the x-ray thing along with your purse and your plastic bag of liquids/gels and shoes, which will be in plastic tubs that will be stacked and ready for you.)|||You can't.|||no|||I got this from the TSA.Gov website

You may transport this item in carry-on baggage or in checked baggage. For items you wish to carry-on, you should check with the airline to ensure that the item will fit in the overhead bin or underneath the seat of the airplane.

Please be sure to wrap cords tightly around electronics items and pack your bag in neat layers (layer of clothes, layer of electronics, layer of clothes, layer of shoes, etc.) to help officers get a clear look at your bag.

Even if an item is generally permitted, it may be subject to additional screening or not allowed through the checkpoint if it triggers an alarm during the screening process, appears to have been tampered with, or poses other security concerns. The final decision rests with TSA on whether to allow any items on the plane.

I hope this helps! :)|||Honestly... why would you need the hair straightener on the plane? I get you want it right when you get off, but you get your luggage right when you get off too, it won't take forever to do. And you'll have it when you get where ever you need to go, which is the only place you'd need your straightener. I also don't think a laptop on a plane is a great idea, you won't get in trouble for it... But why would you really need it? I don't see why you would bother, if the plane has wi-fi you can use it but you have to have it down if turblence, take off, and landing is going on, so I wouldn't bother.Unless it's a very long flight, and this is assuming your plane has wi-fi.

My boyfriend left his xbox at my house and Im going to go visit him tomorrow and he wants me to bring it with me. I dont have room in my check luggage and was wondering if I could bring it as a carry on and put the bag with it in there in the over head thing?
I don't fly very often (like 3 times my whole life and I was 12 the last time I went)
Im going up in Sun Country Airlines from San Diego CA to Minneapolis MN|||Yes, if you can carry a laptop around you can carry an xbox 360. However you will have the same precautions they make you do with a laptop.|||I suppouse, i dont really bring carry on's but as long as its in the bag you sould be fine hun. Good luck.

We plan on going on a casino junket in early December with Sun Country Airlines. We still be staying at Don Laughlin's Riverside. We have some questions:
    1) How are the temperatures in Laughlin in early December?
    2) Are most of the casinos within walking distance (walking is not an issue for us per se, as long as it's not too hot outside)
    3) Is the atmosphere more laid-back than, say, Las Vegas? (this would be a plus for us)
    4) Are there are any casinos there with machines that still pay out in coins rather than tickets?
    5) Which casino has the best buffet?
    6) Are there any convenience stores within walking distance of the casinos?
    7) Which casino(s) has five-draw nickel poker machines?|||1.) 60s during the day, 40s at night.
2.) Riverside, Aquarius, Edgewater, Colorado Belle, Pioneer and Golden Nugget are pretty close together. River Palms and Harrah's are a little further south, but still walkable.
3.) If by laid back you mean geared towards old people, yes. Other than a handful of places and maybe downtown, I don't find Las Vegas particularly hectic or fast paced, just crowded. Laughlin is generally less crowded, so if that's what you mean by laid back, then yes, it is.
    4.) No idea.
5.) No idea. Harrah's claims it's them though.
6.) I don't remember a convenience store, but there is a mall close.
    7.) No idea.

i have a flight with sun country airlines coming up next week... i need to cancel... do they refund? or can i get it postponed for a later time say a year from now?|||Coach Tickets
Coach class tickets are nonrefundable and may be changed at any time for a fee: $50 per domestic ticket and $100 per international ticket. Name changes are allowed for an additional fee of $50 per ticket. If the fare of the new ticket is higher than the original fare, the fare difference will be added to the change fee. If the new fare is lower, the difference may not be refunded and may not be applied towards the change fee. Travel must commence within one (1) year from the date of purchase. A non-refundable ticket reissued toward travel in First Class remains non-refundable.|||Do you have trip insurance. If so, depending on the reason for flight cancellation. Otherwise you will probably have to lose a percentage of what you paid or reschedule your flight and pay a fee to do that.|||Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Just ask them|||Yes, you can rebook it for a later time. You'll have to pay a change fee, which is usually around $100. I'm assuming you got the cheapest ticket, which is non-refundable.|||They don't give refunds unless you had air travel insurance. I'm sure you can use the ticket later in the year but you'll have to pay more money if the flight of ticket when up and you may have to pay a fee for canceling and rebooking. You should call the airlines and ask those questions.
Good Luck|||Most tickets are non-refundable, depending on the airline and how much you paid for the ticket. I've never flown that airline but most likely, it's non-refundable. What most airlines do is they charge a fee - up to $100 - and then they give you a credit for the rest of what you paid for your ticket. So say you paid $250 for your ticket, and the penalty is $100, then you'd get a credit for $150. Check the airline's website or call them though...|||You would get a refund if you were in a full class fare, other then that your under the airlines cancellation policy, phone them

=)|||Usually with most airlines a change fee to change the ticket anywhere from 50-150 dollars. You would really need to call the airlines and see what their's is.. Also some airlines like Sun Country will not have their flight information out for next year yet. So I would talk really sweet and nice and they might give you a refund. But I doubt it|||If you purchased a "refundable" ticket then they will give you a refund. If not, then you will have to follow the rules of the ticket you purchased.

It just depends on what you bought, and I can't tell what you bought from your question.

  • A friend of mine works for Sun Country Airlines and has been told that due to the economy she has two choices. One resign or two accept a 50% pay cut effective Oct 6th.

Considering jobs are not growing on trees in this crazy economy, what would you do. Assuming you did not have another job lined up.

She could accept a termination layoff and then go on unemployment for forty percent of her pay also.

What would you do?|||I would be inclined to keep the job at lower pay - but start looking HARD for extra work.

    A few reasons for that.

If she was to take the termination, I would personally opt to ensure for a start that unemployment benefits WERE available - the airline shouldn't have any reason to deliberately cause you to be blocked from said benefits...but it'd be worth ensuring.

Secondly...working at 50% pay. The first factor is the most basic - it's simply the best income available in an obviously undesirable situation. Secondly, it might look better on a CV - that is, if she was to look for new work, for a new employer to see that and think "well, even though the conditions were drastically reduced, she was still willing to commit to her work as opposed to taking the easy path out".

Finding another job - even in an industry needing numbers - isn't as easy said as done...so if nothing else, it would be best to hang on, I would think. Termination/resignation is available later - but leave now and regret it? That's the point of no return.

That said, it would be worth her looking into industries and sectors with shortages. See if it were possible to transfer skills and qualifications - or undergo training.

I'll give some thoughts based on my position at the moment.

Here in Australia, the resources and mining sector are booming. Although it's not my chosen career (being a flying instructor is), I work shift in a mine to pay the bills because the money is good and pays off my training well.

However - despite the news reports of massive demand for personnel in the remote west Australian mines, the situation is different - as in all economies, skilled people are needed. You need to target an area where the skilled people aren't filling and see if she can.

In my case - I'm also a qualified security guard. The roles I do in the mine are in demand - but security guards are more so. So - at the moment in an effort to source a better bottom line, I'm capitalising on my qualifications as a guard to get into a job most can't do.

What I'm trying to say is - by all means I'd stay on. Better references, better look and (slightly) better pay.

But perhaps look at areas you mightn't think of and see if skills can be transferred over (in my example, until recently, I'd never thought of the need for security guards on mines - but they're in mass demand).

IF she has non-transferrable skills, perhaps look at opportunities to train or do short course. The jobs created through said courses mightn't be ideal and probably not as stimulating as her current job (just a guess) but unfortunately, financial need sometimes has to come first.

When you need a job and aren't too fussed to what you're doing, I believe the jobs are there. It's when people narrow their view too much they get stuck...which is why I'm a great proponent of gaining as many skills as you can - makes you so much more versatile and while I'm needing more jobs to support my chosen career, it's giving me options.

For the interim though, it's a bit of a between a rock and hard place situation but I believe staying (as much as morale would be decreased and possible resentment present) would be better in the long term - for the extra 10% pay (bearing in mind on a $100K salary, that's $10K annually...) and the better reference. |||it is illegal to decrease a pay wage. please contact your states better bussiness bureau.companys do get away with this because ppl do not contact them or so not know of this. at least make the call. what do you have to lose?

    |||In your explanation, you indicate that one of her choices was to resign. That is different from being terminated or laid off, and in most states bars a person from receiving unemployment. You also didn't mention whether or not she would continue to receive benefits under her pay cut which would terminate if she resigns. It is a really unfortunate situation, and I am really sorry she is going through this.|||From the report I've read, they are cutting pay by 50% and deferring it until 2009. If you can believe that they will have the cash to do so.

The option to quit is always there. I would keep working and search for a job and quit when I find something.

I don't think you can collect unemployment unless they lay you off.|||50% is better than 0% or 40%. Take the pay cut and start looking hard for another job.|||i dont understand pay cut, this is illegal unless your getting demoted. i would call the better bussiness bureau|||Quit. She is only making 50% if she says, if she is let go she gets 40%, so she gets to sit at home and look for a job for only 10% less, quit

Sales usually happen every midweek at airlines. Where were you looking to travel to? What was the sale price?|||The price can change at any time of day on any day, up or down - but of course more often up. The price can change more than one time on the same day. It's driven not only by actual sales (and cancellations) for those flights on those dates, but on sales projections (in turn driven by sales of other flights as well as economic news,) and fluctuations in oil prices.

I have an interview with sun country airlines on September 5, 2007 can anyone give me advice on how to get this job and what should I expect on the interview.

Thank you|||Make eye contact, smile, let them know that you have open availability and can work any shift and that you are very excited about the thought of making a whopping $8 an hour plus mandatory overtime.|||The interviewing process for the position of flight attendant is like no other interview you've ever had. Instead of a sedate interview of your past, held in the Human Resources office of a corporation, you may find yourself singing and dancing in front of a crowd of people! Because of this, successful applicants prepare for interviews with their airlines of choice by attending interviews with airlines they have no intention of working for, just for practice. That way, they're better prepared for any question or situation an interviewer might throw at them. You can also gain valuable information by utilizing the resources listed in the "Career Resources" section in the back of the Flight Attendant Job Finder & Career Guide. Knowledge is a good thing, and there is no such thing as enough interview knowledge.
During the interviewing process, most airlines will start with a group interview or "cattle call". A large hall will be rented and groups of applicants will be given an overview of the airline and job requirements. You are usually asked to fill out an application at that time, so you will want to have your resume information with you. One of the surest ways to be bumped from an interview is to say, "Can I get back to you on these dates? I don't have that information with me." Or, the airline may have mailed you an application to your home. If this is the case, it should be completely and neatly filled out before you arrive at the interview. As we mentioned in the previous chapter of the Flight Attendant Job Finder & Career Guide, it is even recommended to make a photocopy of the application, so you can practice filling it out, then putting that information on the original copy as neatly as possible. You should also make a photocopy of the finished application, and bring it with you to the interview.
Following the "cattle call", small groups of applicants may be taken before a panel of interviewers. Further interviews may be given at that time or applicants may be notified of follow-up interviews by phone or mail. The second and third interviews may consist of groups of applicants meeting with a panel of interviewers, a single applicant meeting with a panel, or a one-on-one interview. Usually you will be sent a pass to travel on your prospective airline to interview in their training city. These are "on-line" passes, and are good only on that airline's routes. If you don't live near a city your airline flies to, you will have to pay your own way to get to the closest city where the airline operates.
So what makes these interviews so different? The fact is, the interviewers already know your personal history - it's on your application, which has been pre-screened prior to your arrival. What the interviewers want to find out about you is your character:

    How do you handle stress?
How do you conduct yourself when faced with a difficult passenger situation?
How well do you work as a team player?
    How do you take direction?
Are your social graces sufficient to fulfill the requirements of the job?

These are the most important criteria toward which the focus of the interview will be shifted. Therefore, the interviewers are not necessarily going to ask you about your last job. They're going to put you in situations and see how you get yourself out of them. For instance, in your group of applicants, you may be asked to stand up on a stage and sing the company's slogan, or invent a new one. They may give you an object, perhaps a pen or paper clip, and instruct you to "sell" it to the rest of the group. Many will give you in-flight problem situations, for role-playing, and evaluate how you handle them.
Many of these scenarios will have no "right" or "wrong" solution, and the interviewers do not expect you to know their specific corporate policies. They want to see how well you "think on your feet" and apply common sense to your solutions.

Airlines love to throw hard questions at you, to see how you react. Some examples of these are:

"You have such beautiful long hair. Would you cut your hair short to get this job?"

"This job will require you to move to New York (or Des Moines, Walla Walla, Timbuktu...). Will this create a strain on your relationship with your boy/girlfriend?"

"You are going to have to work every holiday for the next three years, before you even have the possibility of getting one off. Are you prepared for this?"

"Why do you want to be a flight attendant?" Please don't answer this question with the standard answer of "...because I love people and I love to fly!" Interviewers hear that response hundreds of times a day. A more correct answer would be one that demonstrates what you have to offer your prospective airline.

This is where your homework will come into play. Mention the new city that the airline is flying to, or the new nomination for CEO, etc. If you chose them for the chance to utilize your language skills, let them know that. Everyone at the interview wants to be a Flight Attendant. The airline wants to know why they should choose you over the other applicants. What skills will you bring to the airline to improve its standing in the marketplace? The pressure will be on you to perform, as there are no right or wrong responses. If you list a foreign language on your application, someone will test you, so you had better know more than "Buenos D铆as"!
During the entire interview process, consider yourself "on stage". It's not unusual for an airline to be evaluating you as you're waiting to be called into a session. It's a common practice for one of your fellow applicants to be a company employee working undercover. They may be talking with you before the interview, and reveal that they "heard" the airline is not a good one to work for. Never speak negatively about this company, or compare them to other companies in a conversation. These persons may convey your answers back to the company. (Some airlines even go so far as to ask the working crew how you behaved on the flight in.) They will be observing you to see how you get along with the other applicants. They may be talking with you before the interview, and reveal that they "heard" the airline is not a good one to work for. Never speak negatively about this company, or compare them to other companies in a conversation. These persons may convey your answers back to the company.
Throughout the interviews, whether it is the group, panel, or the individual interview, maintain good eye contact with the interviewer. And always, always, remember and use the interviewer's name. If you're in a group interview remember the names of the other applicants, and listen to what they're saying in their responses. Then use this information in your own responses, in a scenario such as this:

INTERVIEWER: "...and what do you feel is the main reason for flight attendants on an aircraft?"

YOU: "Well, Jane, I agree with Susan when she said it's for passenger comfort, but feel the larger reason for flight attendants on board is for passenger safety."

After the interview, be sure to thank your interviewer(s) by name. Reiterate to them how you would like to be a part of their in-flight team, and what you think is the one skill you would bring to the position. This will leave them with a good impression of you, which they will utilize when they decide who continues on to the next level of interviews, or who gets a rejection letter. If you get the opportunity, this is the time to attach a small photo to your application form or resume. It should not be much larger than 2"x2", and should be a professional looking shot of your head and shoulders. Interviewers may talk with hundreds of applicants in a day, and make notes on their applications. At the end of the day, the interviewers will review the applications that weren't immediately rejected, trying to further narrow down their choices. Having a photo on your application will help them remember your participation in the interview, and the impression you made.
Sometimes it's the little details that will make or break you. Airlines have been known to have applications to be filled out at the interview. If you forgot to bring a pen, you can ask the interviewer for one, and they will give you a pencil. Later, when they're going through the applications, they will throw out all the ones filled out in pencil, as this proves you're not good at planning ahead for a given situation.
Are you friendly and talkative, or are you shy and keep to yourself? Your posture and how you sit, walk, and talk will all be checked. This information may be reported to the interviewers before you enter their office. You will always want to be on guard at all times, not just the time you are in front of the interviewers. Are you slumped against the wall or slouching in your seat while waiting to be called? Is this what you would consider "professional flight attendant" demeanor? Your interviewers will not! . Be friendly, talkative, and sincerely interested in the people around you. Don't criticize the company, or any other airlines for that matter. Always be as upbeat and positive as possible. Even if it is allowed or permissible, don't smoke during the interview process. All US and Canadian airlines are now a non-smoking environment, and one airline even requires you to be a non-user of nicotine products to apply. As a working crewmember you will have the same smoking restrictions as your passengers, so it's best to get in the practice of abstaining from smoking now, before you are hired.
Interview attire is important also. A smartly tailored suit that is clean and pressed will give you a more businesslike attitude than a trendy or extreme outfit. Avoid wearing too much makeup, applying just enough to enhance your natural features. It's a fallacy to believe that airlines are only looking for people who look like fashion models. Actually it's the overall person they now hire. Age, weight, height, and appearance standards have been relaxed over the years, making this career available to a larger cross-section of the public.
It shouldn't need mentioning, but after seeing some of the applicants who have come to interviews in the past, apparently it does:

Shower or bathe before you come to the interview!
Your hair should be clean and styled.
Perfume or aftershave should be applied lightly, and should not overpower the room.

You want to put your best appearance forward. Neat, recently trimmed hair (most beard wearers will be asked to shave if hired), clean hands and manicured nails (nail-biters seldom get hired), clear complexion, and a slim, well-proportioned figure are very important for both sexes. Women, avoiding the excessively large or dangling styles should wear simple earrings. Even though a few airlines may allow male flight attendants to wear a simple stud in their ear, it's best to not wear any to the interview. Body piercing in other locations is not accepted, and should not be worn to the interview. Tattoos should not be visible while wearing your interview attire.
A lot has been said lately on the subject of weight requirements. Recent lawsuits against airlines by older flight attendants that were still required to maintain their hiring weight well into their later years have been settled in favor of the flight attendants. Now airlines will simply say that weight must be "in proportion to height," as opposed to strictly adhered-to weight charts. It will, however, improve your chances at the interview if you display a figure in good physical condition. . It's very easy to gain weight while working as a flight attendant, and maintaining a regular schedule of exercise can be difficult. Therefore, it's imperative that you begin now to control your weight and physical condition.
The appearance criteria may be very subjective. Every airline looks for a different type of person. Some want the all-American look, others want the sophisticate. Still others will want the characteristics most traditionally associated with the regions in which they operate. Each company and each interviewer for that company has a different interpretation of what will fulfill their needs. It's not unusual for an applicant to be turned down by an airline one day, and hired by another the next. One friend of mine was turned down three separate times by the same major carrier, was finally hired by them on the fourth try, and now has over ten years seniority.
After the interview, if you do not hear from an airline within a couple of weeks, it is an indication that you have not been accepted. Don't become discouraged or take it personally. Sometimes it can be the personal preferences of the interviewer subconsciously affecting their judgment. Perhaps they don't like blondes, or New Yorkers, or whatever.
Your interviewer is usually a flight attendant on special assignment, and may not be a professionally trained interviewer. Or, it may come down to five excellent candidates, and they have only four openings. This is where all the little things you could or could not do in the interview will make or break you. Turn this disappointment into a positive learning experience and go on to interview with other carriers.
Perseverance is the key to success. If you are turned down by an airline, you will seldom be informed of the reason(s) why. Any attempts to try and discover why you were rejected will most likely be unsuccessful. Again, keep in mind that an average interview series can have hundreds of applicants, and the interviewers travel to many cities to conduct these interviews. To try and speak with the decision-makers can be next to impossible. Some career counselors will advise you to send a thank-you note to the interviewers. I personally don't advise this, as trying to connect the note with your application or the interviewer may not be possible. Simply accept the loss of this application window, move on, and apply to that airline again at your next eligible date. I remember at my final interview, we were all sitting around guessing which applicants would most likely get the job. The ones we all agreed upon as "definitely" getting the job were never hired. Many of us were amazed that we were chosen instead!

You will want to bring to your interview the following items:

    Social security card
    Passport
A copy of your birth certificate
    Copies of your r茅sum茅
A copy of the information needed on the application
    Letters of reference
Alien registration & work permit (non-citizen)
    Pen
    Watch

Allow adequate travel time to avoid a late arrival. Interviewers will close the doors to the interview room promptly on the specified hour. If you're even a minute late, you will either be denied entrance until the next session, or will be allowed to enter- though you now have two strikes against you. Why this test? Airlines operate on strict timetables. You must be on time and reliable if you want to be in this industry. This is not a career for you if you are habitually late for appointments. In fact, if you are even 5 minutes late more than once for your flights, you are fast on your way to looking for a new job. So, as the interviewers see it, if you can't arrive at the interview on time, how likely is it that you will be on time for the flights you work?

Yes, it does. From the Sun Country Airlines website:

if you have any codes please let me know what they are.|||Sun Country isn't much of an airline to give discounts...they are independently owned i think. But in all the years they've been around, I don't think they offer much, not around the holidays thats for sure! Their main hub is Minneapolis but they fly domesticly to a lot of places. Good luck finding one, because i'm pretty sure they dont have one.

I will be going to Minnesota on July 2011, I have an Apple Computer, can I take it as a carry-on? Please reply fast, thank you!|||Yes, laptops are definitely allowed, I haven't ever heard of an airline that doesn't allow laptops. You should be aware of a couple things though: First, you will have to take your laptop out at the security checkpoint in the airport and place it in a bin by itself to go through the x-ray machine; second, you can only use the laptop during cruise flight (you can't have it on during take-off or landing). Flight attendants will make an announcement when electronics can be turned on, and another when they must be turned off.|||Yes, you can take it as a personal item as noted on the Sun Country website: http://www.suncountry.com/hometools/help鈥?/a> - see the 2nd paragraph under Carry-on Baggage

  • Does anyone on these forums work as a flight attendant for Sun Country Airlines and what is reserve like with them? How long can people expect to be on reserve.|||You could expect to be on reserve up to 4 years at Sun Country. They have a very very low turnover and probably won't hire again for another 4 years. Being on reserve you have to ALWAYS be within and hour and 15 minutes from the airport in case they call you for a flight. You only have 10 days off in a month. Sometimes you can be called in and will be gone for up to 6 days.

it would be nice if food was included
like the disney world packages...is there one like that for ny??

Thanks!!!|||I doubt you'll find an all-inclusive package for NY. Unlike Disneyworld, it's not a resort, it's a city. You can probably find something for combined travel and lodging, but I highly doubt you'll find something with food included. Besides, you'd be in one of the greatest cities in the world, why would you want to be confined to hotel food?

  • Hi. I need more help on planning a trip to Walt Disney World! Where can I find a best deal on a Disney World Package with airfare from Charlotte to Orlando plus 2 Disney Tickets plus a onsite hotel room??? Where can I go to have my picture taken with Darth Vader at the Star Wars weekends? Can my dad book Disney's Magical Express when he books a flight and a hotel with US AIrways? Where can I download Disney songs? Please help me because I am planning to go to Disney World for a STAR WARS weekend and can you tell me when are the Star Wars weekends? So, I can pass this info to my dad. Where is the Disney World Speedway located inside Disney World? Is Anakin Skywalker going to be at the Star Wars weekends? Please tell me that because I have a huge crush on Anakin for 5 whole years!!! Where on the internet can me and my dad book a Disney World package? Thanks for your help and I need some good feedback for the STAR WARS weekends. I like Anakin and Darth Vader!!! Thank you!!! : )|||You have asked this same question several times. The answer is still the same. If you are looking for the specific actor who played him you are going to have to wait until the official schedule comes out. Rumors are that SWW will be during June. The official schedule of actors should come out in the next couple of months. It really is bad that they do not put it out earlier so people can plan vacations, but unfortunately that is the case. If you just want the "character" of Anakin/Darth Vader there is a chance that they will be out during this time.

There are several places you can book. The normal is through Disney itself. But there are also places like AAA or CostCo if you are a member. There is also another site you can take a look at called mousesavers which can have some good ideas. As for US Airways as far as I am aware they are still in a Test Phase so Disney Magical Express is not totally available. As to if it will be by June the travel agency should be able to answer for sure.|||EBAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!|||ebayyyyy|||Hello! Unfortunately the official schedule for Star Wars weekends has not been released yet. Once it is, it will have all the actors on it that have confirmed they are coming.

I am planning to go to Disney World in the summer and was thinking about to save some money because going to Disney World is pretty expensive. Can someone give me advice on how to save money for Disney World and if I should buy the Disney World package. I think the Disney World package is when the Disney has a bus ready for when you come out from the airport and the bus already has your luggages and you don't have to worry about it because they will deliver it once you are in your hotel room. Also, I THINK you get discounts? :/
ANDD, you can also tell me about your experience and where are the best restuarants and best gift shops in the park. Also, which park is the best and which rides is a must to go on! :)
So PLEASE, if anyone can give me some feedback and your experience and whatever you think may help me. THANKS! :D|||To save money I would suggest bringing your own water into the park. That will save a ton and try to eat outside the park as much as possible. Staying outside is actually cheaper if you can get a deal on a hotel (not that hard as there are many to choose from) plus it is nice to take a break from the world at night. Do rent a car, the extra money is worth it as it gives you the freedom to eat at locations outside of the parks and maybe even go to a grocery store (again there are several). Hope that helps and have fun!!!|||no, but i've been to disney land. its basically the same thing.|||I always want to but RomneyCare robs me $900 per month...How can I have any money left?

THANKS! :D|||Disney packages do sometimes have special offers that can save you money, that is true, but you will have to book during a time that has such a deal. You won't get additional discounts.

If you want to stay at a Disney hotel, you may as well just buy the deal from Disney, as it will not be any cheaper elsewhere. A package deal will include tickets and the room, and you can also include airfaire if you need it, and the dining plan if you want it. The bus coming to get you at the airport is for anybody staying at a Disney hotel, no matter what kind of package you have.

About the only way to save money is that if you stayed off-property and didn't eat at the parks; however, you would have to pay for your own transportation. So if you are going to have your car there anyway, this can work out in your favor. But if you have to rent a car and/or if you are going to be eating all your meals in the parks anyway, then you may as well stay at Disney.|||Hello! =)
It is much cheaper to buy a Disney vacation package. With the Disney your way magic package, you can get whichever tickets you want whether base or park hoppers or water parks, the dining plan, and some other perks are the transportation to parks and to and from the airport. If you want a free quote or help in planning, feel free to email me misty@magicalvacationplanner.com I'm a Disney travel agent and would be happy to help!|||I would use a travel agent who specializes in Disney. Here are the reasons:
    1. It is free to use a travel agent.
    2. She will know all the deals that are out there and be able to get you the best price.
    3. She will know which resort is best for your group.
    4. It won't cost you a dime more to use a Travel Agent, but you will get expert advice.
    5. Mine saved me over $500 on our package!!|||well there is tons of info about Disney, for instance, it depends when you are going, even if it is the summer. Early June is probably the best priced, or wait until the 3rd week in August. Disney offers many packages that include the transportation, tickets, and room...you just have to keep checking their webpage. It will be cheaper if you decide to stay at a hotel outside of the Disney complex, but it also depends where you stay...

I go almost every year, and I have stayed inside and out of the complex, in hotels, and sometimes when many of us go, we rent a 5 bedroom home with a private pool and share the cost...this has been the cheapest....|||If we compare regular, non discounted prices for package and room only reservation, then you will see that when you add tickets price will be exactly the same. However, Disney constantly runs some offers for both package and room only and you have to figure out what is better for your family. Go to Disney.com and price your vacation. Both types of reservations will give you access to Disney bus from airport, called Magic Express, as long as you stay on Disney property.. There were times when they gave you some credits for arcade or mug or pins for booking packages, not really significant, anyway, not sure what they offer right now, you will find it on Disney.com You can book with AAA if anyone in your group is a member, you will get 10% off from regular price, not from already discounted price. You can buy tickets from Undercovertourist.com , it is official reseller and you can get tickets slightly cheaper but not much. Anyway, just price your vacation and see what is better for you.|||i would get the package, and i would get it right from disney. I wouldnt go through a booking site.
If youre planning ot go this summer, i would go to disneys website and sign up for the newsletter. They offer free dining plans certain times of the year, and i have already gotten several emails about the deal. However since were not going back until October, we will not be able to get it. You will save a TON of money, all you have to do is plan your meals and make sure when you make your dining reservations that the restaurant accepts the dining plan. Also you can plan your entire package on the website, if your on a budget it will help lay it all out for you.
If you are staying on disney property all thetransportation you will get is complimentary. Yes the magical express will take you from the airport right to either your resort or the parks.. They will deliver your luggage to your room for you, BUT i would advise you to pack whatever you need for the first few hours or so cause it may take a few hours for the people to get your luggage to your room. in my personal experience it is WAY easier to enjoy disney if you stay on property. You get the transportation, and you get to enjoy all the extra magic hours.... (hours the park is open only to resort guests, one park will either open early or close late each day)

we stayed off property the first time we visited and it was just chaos.... not to mention all the money we spent on cabs. Another perk is if you make purchases in idsneyworld you can opt to have your purchases taken to your room for you! so you dont have to carry them around!
Theres so much magic and wonderful things at disney. Enjoy them!
Dont hesitate to ask if you have any other questions!!

My family is planning on booking a trip to WDW and we're going to do it through the vacation package that they offer on their webiste...i just wanted to ask is this a good way to go and also by booking online how will we recieve our tickets and this may sound like a stupid question but is booking the hotel (hopefully Pop Cenury) online the same as calling in and booking? i.e will they still have our room reserved...sorry i'm kind of a worry wart!! haha|||I always go through the steps online to see everything that i want, and the quoted price. Then instead of booking online, i call DIsney and tell them what i want and they take care of it all, plus then there is someone to ask those kinda questions to. I tried once to book online and it didnt work, so i ended up calling them. They make it really simple and they are very friendly. The prices are the same. Booking the resort is the same too.|||No need to worry if you book your vacation package online. Infact that is the only way that we book our Disney vacations. FYI--my husband is a worry wart too and after I book online, he waits a couple days, he has me then call and verify all reservations with Disney. Your Key to the World (room key) acts as your tickets, a fast way of payment linked it to your credit card you give, and your room key. Your Key to the World also acts as your meal plan ticket if you are getting a package that includes that. Hope this helps you out and gives you a little bit of piece at mind.|||I would recommend calling in rather than booking online. The specialists at the Disney Reservations line are great and you will be able to ask lots of questions. You can't do that online. Also, make sure to ask specifically, "Are there any specials available during my travel dates?" If you ask, they have to tell you, but if you don't ask, they do not have to give you that information.
If you are looking for advice as to when to book or what kind of package is best for your family, I would contact Custom Mouse Plans. We have used them twice in the past and they were great! The first time they even saved us money on our package!
Good Luck!|||You will still have a reservation and everything, but I agree that you should call and ask about specials during your trip. Also, make sure you get the park hopper passes. A lot of people don't think that they will need or want them, but once youre there, they cost more.. and you will definately use it. I dont recommend the meal plan. Its good for some people but, it's easier to just have the freedom of wherever you want to go that day.|||I would say it is a bad deal booking from Disney, it is cheaper if you go to Orbitz and include the air fare and you can type in that you want pop century, then just buy your park tickets from disney. thats what my family did and it came out alot cheaper

P.S. if you use this promo code you will save $100 off your orbitz vacation if its 5 nights or more

    EQUALITY100

good luck|||Well booking a package can be a good thing as long as your also booking a dining package as well. The reason I say this is because there is no way to save money and also get the dining package without booking a ticket and room deal as well. If you are not going to be getting a dining package, there are ways to save some money here and there (every little bit counts!) If you belong to AAA, you can receive as much as a 20% discount (during the slow season) off of hotel rooms if you book over the phone and let the representative know. You will just be asked to show your AAA card when you check in. Also, you can usually save a few dollars on tickets at your local AAA office as they carry the park tickets and usually knock off about $3-5 per ticket (not alot, but it can add up) If you don't have AAA then I do recommend just booking over the internet as sometimes they mess up spelling of names over the phone (have had this happen more times than I care for) Also, check their website for any promotional deals (sometimes they offer special rates for packages with or without dining) Either way, have a magical vacation!|||I think the best thing to do is to book the trip by calling Disney directly. You can talk to a cast member, and many times they can suggest things that may be money savers. They are trained to give you more bang for your buck. Plus I am like you, I just don't trust the internet. I want to make sure that things are done correctly. One thing you DON'T want to do, do not book through a third party vendor. Contrary to popular belief Disney keeps the best deals for themselves. The rooms that sites like Priceline do advertise are not too much different in price, but because they are $5 cheaper they can be advertised as "discount." I know a few people that have made reservations like that only to get burned. They did not get what they thought they paid for, so the term Buyer Beware applies.

You are doing the smart thing by staying on property. You can get all of the perks of staying at a Disney resort, take advantage of the Disney Dining plan and take in Disney the best way possible. Disney takes great care of their resort guests, regardless of the resort you choose.

When you book through Disney everything will be waiting for you at the resort. First of all if you are flying you will have to make arrangements with Disney's Magical Express. They will pick you up at Orlando Int'l Airport and bring you to your resort for free. Your luggage will be delievered direct to your room. Once you get to the resort (regardless of how you get there) there will be an envelope for you at check in. Each member of your party will have a "Key to the World." This is your pass to the parks as well as your room key. You can even have charging privilages on the keys if you want.

I would highly suggest adding the Park hopper option to your passes. The base tickets for Disney are o.k., they allow you entrance to one park per day. The park hopper let's you come and go as you please. For example, let's say you go to the Animal Kingdom for the early part of the day. You go back to your resort for a rest and a swim, then want to go to Disney Studios to see Fantasmic, the outstanding night time laser light and fireworks show. You can ONLY do that if you have the park hopper option. It just gives you the flexibility to do what you want when you want.

If you want more info I suggest the disboards. The disboards is a message boards website that is all about going to Disney. You can get resort reviews, trip reports, restaurant reviews, tips and tricks for avoiding crowds, advice, and much more. I put the link below.

Hope this helps, have a great trip!!

Ok, so even though I know its 2009, I'm hopefully going to be visting in 2010, and normally the rates don't change that much. But anyway, I was wondering if their is ANYTHING I can do about haveing 5 people in Disney, and one of them not have to be under the same package we as the other 4 are. The reason for this is because someone like my mom doesn't want to spend 7 days walking around Disney with a bunch of Teenage girls, and it would be a complete waste of money to spend extra on her, when she isn't going to use it! So, what do you think? No? Yes? Or should I just get two rooms, and give her her own room, so we don't have to spend the extra on her.. Also, keep in mind that if we could stay all together then we would be getting a room in Disney Vaulve Music Resort as a family sweet, instead of a normal two. Also, were on a tight budget so keep that in mind.. Thanks :D|||If you are all on the same package, you must be fully on the same package. But the good news is, you don't have to have a package, unless you want the dining plan. Many times it is actually less money to book your parts a la carte than get a package (even during free dining). Just use a room only discount (see: www.mousemisers.com and sign up for alerts)--you can apply it to an existing reservations and then buy discounted tickets. See: http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Buy-a-Wal鈥?/a> Out of pocket dining can cost you less than the dining plan too. See: http://trifter.com/usa-canada/florida/ev鈥?/a>

But, if the dining plan is your best use of funds, or you just find it easier, the good news is that after 3 days, each additional day at Disney is only $3 per day. Of course, ticket prices go up August 2, so that might change.

Another thing to consider is if more than one of you is over 18, two rooms *could* save you money. There is a surcharge for every extra adult over 2 in a room. Two rooms would also give you two bathrooms. You might want to even look at renting DVC points, to get a bigger room; sometimes it can be less than two rooms.

You have a 101 options. Spend a little time getting to know what your options are and you'll find the least expensive way to go to Disney. Oh, 2010 prices should be released in mid-august|||I say subscribe to the Disney Destination's newsletter

They fill you in on Special Disney offers all the time.|||I agree that it is worth it to get the 7day ticket, as it is only a little bit more money, yet very useful. Your mom may want to stay at the hotel during the day when it is hot out, but would have the option of going to the parks later in the evening for dinner, shopping and even some rides. I would also suggest calling the Disney reservations hot-line and talking to someone directly, they may be able to give you an option that you haven't already thought of. Also check mousesavers.com and disboards.com for planning tips!|||Go to the Walt Disney World web site and play with the ticket prices. You will see that they charge a lot of money for the first 3 days, and very little for each day after that. For instance, a 3 day Magic Your Way ticket is $212. A 7 day Magic Your Way ticket is $228. So, the first 3 days cost about $70 each, and the next 4 days cost about $4 each.

If she plans to go to the parks for 3 days, you might as well pop for the entire 7 day ticket and let her have options. She can choose to go to the parks, or not. It is only $4, so she can go for a few hours, and bail out if she wants.

You would have to check our the same type of math with the package reservations to make sure that it comes out the same way. I have never tried that.

    Have fun.

  • Hi Guys. I need help on planning a magical trip to Disney World next year with my dad. I need Disney World Advice for the Star Wars weekends. When are the Star Wars weekends next year? Is there a trip website I can get on to look for Disney World packages from Charlotte to Orlando? What is the best airline that flies from Charlotte to Orlando? Also, can you tell me where I can find a Star Wars shirt at Disney World and where can I get my photo taken with Stitch? I love Stitch and is there a website that has Stitch wallpaper and a website that has Disney songs to download for free? My favorite Disney movie is Lion King and where can I get my photo taken with Simba? Also I love Pooh and where can I get a Pooh shirt at Disney World? Please offer advice for my dad and I when we go to Disney World next year for the Star Wars weekends! Thank you for your help. Should I start planning my trip now? I will pass this info to my dad tonight so he can start planning our magical trip to Disney World! Thanks again!!!!!|||Yes!! Definitely start planning now!
And book airlines as soon as you can.
American Airlines seems to be the cheapest when I fly, which is frequent.
Also, get a hopper pass to all parks.
If you like water parks a LOT, make sure those are included because there are two of them, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.
Also, try and go to Downtown Disney where there is AMAZING shopping!
Plan to spend a day at each of the four parks.
When you go, stay on Disney property so you can take their transportation directly from your hotel to the park and back again.
    It's SOOO much easier!
Also, when you go to Epcot, remember that there are several different countries as well as the futuristic stuff at the front.
You can easily get Winnie the Pooh and Simba stuff in Magic Kingdom. Definitely ride the Winnie the Pooh ride. It is worth the wait. ^_^
At Hollywood Studios, there is a ride called Stitch's great escape. Usually in the morning Lilo and Stitch are walking around that area.
Try to use fast passes. They are free if you have a hopper pass. Near the ride there should be machines where if you put your pass, or Disney hotel key, in it, it will pop out with a fast pass, which is a pass that will give you a time when you can come back to the ride later and skip ahead in line. It's amazing, especially with the roller coasters. :)
As for dining, Epcot has AMAZING cuisine that is affordable.
When you are in Magic Kingdom, I suggest eating at the Pinnochio resturaunt. I am not sure what it is called, but if you ask someone who works there, they will know what you are talking about.

At Hollywood studios, there is a Star Wars ride which exits to the gift shop you will enjoy. If you eat at Hollywood studios, try eating a Pizza Planet because the pizza there is delicious!!

I hope I helped you and I hope you have a TON of fun in the happiest place on earth. :)|||You have posted this question a dozen times, and it has been answered. What is your problem?

They hold Star Wars in June, as has been told to you many times. Yes, you can buy a package from Disney. Yes, Star Wars shirts are sold at Disney. Ask at Guest Services where Stitch is appearing. Simba doesn't appear. Pooh shirts are everywhere.

Since you have asked this question under numerous names multiple times, I would assume you are planning your trip now already. Yes, good idea.|||Go buy "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World". Depending on the time of your trip, the 2009 issue may be available. This was the best $20 I spent in preparation for my family's July/August 2008 vacation. The touring plans in the guide are incredible! We never had to wait in line for more than 15 minutes inside any of the four main parks, and we went during one of the busiest times of the year!|||You have asked this question numorous times now. The answer does not change. Star Wars weekends are generally held during June but the official schedule will not be out until Early Spring. If you are looking for a specific person it is too early to know. No one here or on any other site will be able to give you any more information on that yet..Sorry but that is just the way it is.

You need to go to either the Walt Disney World Web site and look at their travel packages or if you belong to AAA go there as they can get you better discounts. This will give you an idea of the total cost including airfare, food, and hotel.

I haven't gone on vacation since I was little so my parents did all the work and paying for everything. but I am trying to plan this vacation for my boyfriend and I (we will both be 21 on this vacation)to go on. He has never been to Disney World and we live in Florida so... why not? I plan on checking into a hotel September 18 and checking out on September 23. I have looked at packages but I was just wondering if anyone knew a cheaper way to go. I wanted to get a Disney World and Orlando Studios package, but probably will just go with a Disney World package alone. Just help me I don't know what I am doing. should I just find a cheap hotel somewhere in orlando? should i get an entire package deal? if anyone has and information please pass it along. I would prefer if the people giving me information are adults who have had experience in this area! THANK YOU!|||"j" has given you excellent advice about booking a Disney resort and on how to book this trip for the least amount of money, so I won't repeat that info.

The only things I'd add are:

    (1) I've been in September - the lines are short and the parks are not very crowded, so it is a great time to go.

    (2) You might want to go to Disney's website and register to receive email updates. This is just for Disney fans; you need not book anything to sign up for email updates. Why is it good? Disney sends out special deals via email. For example, on our most recent trip to Disney (last week!) we booked through a travel agent because even though Disney (and not travel agencies) controls price, we were flying so we wanted a specific physical person we could pester if anything went wrong! Otherwise, I probably would have booked online at Disney's website since the prices are all the same. However, what I found that is GREAT about the email specials AND about having a travel agent (which I'll make point (3) ) is that right after we booked, I got a promotional mass-mailer email about a special room deal which would have saved us more money. I called our agent, and she made it happen! We got money back since the new deal (even post-booking) made it less expensive.

    (3) See above regarding travel agents.

    (4) I agree with the person who said that a park hopper isn't necessary for 5 days because you can completely fill a day at just one park. However, what I like about park hoppers is that you have flexibility. For example, if Space Mountain is shut down for a mechanical problem on your "Magic Kingdom" day, you can go back on a later day. Also, if bad weather pops up on your "water park day," you can go switch up your plans.

    (5) One last comment about Disney Dining Plans: we tried out the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan (3 table service meals [appetizer, entree, drink, dessert] plus 2 snacks per day). It's too much! We are EATERS and we couldn't eat that much. The regular Disney Dining plan is one sit-down, one quick service, and one snack per day. Plus, Disney allows you to take food and drinks into the parks - just no alcohol or glass containers. I like having a dining plan because your meals are already paid for (except for tips which are extra). Take heed, however - you should make reservations ASAP if you want to use your table service meals for dinner (or if you want to eat at ANY table service restaurants for dinner). You can make them 180 days in advance, so you should book them now. Last week, which is a relatively slow period, we couldn't get into any table service restaurants without reservations. (The meals also present another argument in favor of the park hopper - we made reservations for most of our dinners, so it was nice to have the flexibility to change parks during the day before dinner at whatever park had the restaurant.)

Hope this helps - have a MAGICAL vacation!|||disneys amazingggggggggg|||disneyworld.com should have all the info you need on the prices|||http://www.visitkissimmee.com/leisure/
Send for the Travel Guide -middle tab- on this page
    I highly recommend it.
When I went, the catalogue had all kinds of discount coupons
I stayed at the Days Inn right outside the main gate for $28 /night
    ( this was 2003, however)
But there's pages and pages of coupons.
If youre in Florida, it wont take long to get it in the mail.
THEN people send you all kinds of things . They want you to spend your vacation money there.
Since I didnt know the area, I looked up surrounding hotels in that same area. I saw a Radisson, Holiday Inn etc..so you knew it wasnt a dumpy area. Never book something like the Rainbow Motel, if youre out of town. Stick with a motel chain.
My hotel had Disney passes for sale, right at the front desk. Most do, I believe. Dont buy them from street vendors. Ive heard some sad tales about that.

Meals are pretty expensive, so we'd eat breakfast, and then a late supper after we left. They close earlier after school starts in the fall. Then I put some small snacks in my purse. Bought pop..which THEN was $3.00 for a 24oz.

I would wait til you get the book, as I think you can do better than the package deal. Remember too... youre only in your motel to sleep. The rest of the time, youre at the parks. You dont need a motel with a Mickey Mouse shaped pool for $500 /night.|||A package seems to be your best bet. If I were you...

I would stay on property at the Pop Century hotel (value hotel, but cool atmosphere - especially for your age group) - I personally would get a five day ticket with NO hopper. If he hasn't been before you can easily spend a full day in each park, and one day to go back to your favorite park. I would suggest the dining plan. Although I've never suggested this one before, since you are young I think you could probably get by with the counter service plan (no sit down restaurants). Finally, I would use the web site www.allears.net to help plan daily activities. They have information that can take you from the beginning to the end of your trip planning. Have fun and be sure to ask for the Florida residents discount!|||In 2008 my fiance and I went to Disney for the first time together, we had both just turned 21. It was the most amazing trip of my life. Very hastle free, fun, and relaxing at the same time.

This year (very soon actually) I will be going again for my honeymoon!

Pop century is my FAVORITE disney resort. It is one of the value resorts, and can get as low as 96$ a night during off -seasons. My fiance and I went there 2 years ago and that is where we will be staying for our honeymoon too!

Walt disney world packages are pretty good, I'm pretty sure from experience that you get the best value that way. I would call and get a price from them becuase you can get a florida residant discount on the park passes!!!|||Oh, very, very good time to go! Crowds will be down.

First, as you have already realized, Disney and Universal are competitors, so you cannot find any combo-packages for them both. So if you want to do both, they will both have to be booked totally separately.

Second, since this is your first time to plan everything all by yourself, the easiest thing to do would be to book your entire package deal with Disney - either from their website or over the phone. You won't really find any deals beyond what you can get directly from Disney. You might want to consider using a Disney travel agent - if there is not one locally, there are several who can work with you online. They can help you just in remembering all the details you might not have thought of.

Additionally, I highly, highly recommend this great planning website: http://www.allearsnet.com

There are four parks at Disney, plus two water parks, golf, Downtown Disney, shopping, etc., so I definitely think you can fill your entire trip just at Disney. However, if you should decide to go to Universal, too, they have two parks which take one day each. So you could buy a package from Disney and just go to Universal for a couple of days, or you could book a complete package with Disney, then switch hotels and book a complete package with Universal, or you could book a hotel along International Drive which would be conveniently located to both parks. But remember with Disney, you don't need transportation, because they will get you anywhere on their property for free. If you stayed at a I-Drive hotel, you would have to drive back and forth yourself every day - personally, I don't necessarily mind this, but a lot of people do. With it just being the two of you, this is not that much of an inconvenience. If you have a bunch of little kids with you, being able to use the free Disney transportation can be a major plus. With just adults, not quite such a big deal.|||First of all, yay you for doing the Disney thing! The first time I went was on my honeymoon, and I loved it! Have been back several times. We did not pay the extra money to stay on Disney property our first trip- I felt it wasn't going to be worth it. I was so wrong! We stayed at one of the "Only a mile from Disney World's gate!!" hotels that offered free shuttle to and from the parks. Ohhh boy. That was so not cool. The hotel was nasty, the shuttle was horrible. We even considered renting a car, but were too young at the time (Had to be 25 in FL)- even so, parking is close to $14 a day at the Parks. If you live in Florida, you should be able to get some sort of FL resident discount on something..... I would call Disney directly and ask what is available to you - you won't know unless you ask - and they won't tell you if you don't ask! I would stay on property if you can swing it. The biggest difference between the Value and Moderate resorts (in my opinion) would be that Moderates have mini fridges, the rooms are a bit bigger, and I feel that there are way more kids at the Value ones... But maybe that's just me, lol! The Deluxe resorts we have yet to stay at... They are so expensive! Someday! I would not do Universal this time. There is so much to do and see at Disney, you won't even be able to do it all in the days you will be there! If you have the money, I would add on a dining plan (we have found the "mid grade" one is the best, 1 snack, 1 quick service meal, and 1 table service) because then, once your trip is paid for - you don't have to figure in the cost of dining - it's already done! And it's much more convenient than messing with all kinds of cards and cash when out. One website I visit often is www.allears.net. There you can check out all the resorts in all price ranges, as well as menus, rides, everything! Good luck and have fun!!|||Vacation Package:-

Just purchased a Disney package with flight, accomodation and parks online..Does anyone know if they mail the flight tickets directly to us ( United Airlines) or its just an e -ticket ?|||They will send you a little packet of stuff.. it will include special tags for your bags so that you can use the express shuttle fromt he airport to the hotel... In that packet they will provide the e-ticket locator number... No one actually sends tickets anymore, and if you request actual tickets you will end up getting a service charge of between 25 and 75 dollars a ticket to get the paper tickets.|||It will most likely be an e-ticket

im 15 and my mom asked me to find Walt disney world packages
but im really confused so can anyone help me find discount packages for 4 people (2adults 2 kids)
with a hotel close to the WDW
and if you know a really good website it would help
and is it cheaper to fly to florida or go with a car from NY?

oh and we're also a AAA members----if that helps|||Since you are AAA members, go to your local office or call them. You tell your AAA agent what you are interested in (e.g. "I would like to go to WDW, stay at the All Star Movies resort, go to the parks for four days with the hopper option"). They will put a package together for you and call you to explain or you can go in and they will explain it to you. They are really helpful and can save you money. I just booked a package with them last month for my sister and I to go to WDW. We are going for six days, five nights; staying at the All Stars Movie resort, have 4-day base tickets to the parks, and the dining plan and it cost $1255. You could stay off property for less with a hotel room, but the advantages of staying on Disney property, in my opinion, out way the cost difference (Disney transportation---every fifteen minutes, extra magic hours, etc.). We also have plane tickets that cost $359 for each of us ($718 total).

For the plane vs. car issue, in your case, I would say drive because it's going to be cheaper. In my sister and my case, it was cheaper to drive (we live in Ohio), but we thought the amount of time saved by flying was a great advantage (my sister really couldn't have more days off work to account for driving time). But because there is four of you, you can definitely save by driving....quite a bit of money by driving. But, like us, if time is valuable, I would fly.

But again, stop by your local AAA office and let them help and save you money!|||http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/ind鈥?/a>

I am wanting to book a 2 week package holiday to Walt Disney World Florida for just myself and my 10 year old daughter. It is the first visit for us and I wondered if anyone has any tips or suggestions for the best companies / websites to book through or tips for when we get there? We want to do the trip as economically as possible and see as much as possible I don't want to drive out there as i struggle enough with driving in the UK!!
I have been looking at the Virgin Package deals but been told I can find better deals if I ask around.... Can anyone help?|||I'm not familiar with the Virgin Package deals, but I can give you some general advice.

A two-week holiday is a long time; I'd think about staying offsite to save a ton of money. There are many great vacation home rentals in the area that are minutes from the Disney parks. http://hubpages.com/t/271f76 goes over a ton of perks and money saving cost options for staying offsite. A home is also a great idea since you probably won't be hitting the parks every day. It's not that I don't love Disney Resorts, but sometimes they aren't the best choice. I know you said you don't want to drive, but staying offsite doesn't mean you have to drive.

Buy the right ticket. UK has great ticket options for UK residents. That might be your best bet, but it might not be either. An excellent primer on Disney World tickets is at http://trifter.com/practical-travel/buyi鈥?/a>

Check out some serious budget info at http://www.mousesavers.com I'd also buy a copy of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World.

If you are really confused, think about getting a travel agent to help you navigate. But, you want specific things in a travel agent when planning a Disney vacation. See http://trifter.com/practical-travel/trav鈥?/a> and don't worry, so many people spend their holidays at Disney from the UK, they are all able to help you very well.|||Virgin Package is also good, but Walt Disney World Resort is definitely the best one. it includes many hotels and apart from the airport shuttle to pick you up, these hotels also have different resorts to fit your budget and your demand. these hotels include Contemporary, Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Beach Club Villas, Hotel Royal Plaza and swan and many others. the check in varied.|||If you are close to Gatwick fly the Virgin nonstop to Orlando. It is always the least expensive. With a young traveler it would even be worth a few extra bucks to do the nonstop. Perhaps you can book the flight separate. Book with Disney for the room, tickets and dining. I just checked the expedia uk web site and found 2 nonstop tickets for 444 L. That's about 700us dollars for 2 tickets, not bad.|||Book with WDW only. If you stay at a WDW resort, they will pick you up at the airport for free and drop you back off again. And all transportation to the parks is free. and you will get Magic Hours. The WDW value resorts will have the lowest prices on rooms.

beware of "deals" on Disney ticket prices. Disney keeps a tight hold on their tickets. there are MANY scams out there.

  • Disney World package plans: Is the hopper worth the extra price? Has anyone used the quick service meal plan (that costs about $100 a day for four people)? Is it worth it or could I come out better by purchasing meals and sharing? What is the price range for food at the park? Do you get good portions - enough for two people to share? Any other advice?|||We buy the Hopper option every time we go to Disney. Some people think it is a waste of time. Here are our reasons
    1) We have our preference for fireworks shows, this way we can spend the day at a different park and then head to our faves for a few rides and the fireworks

    2) Hollywood Studios is a small park... even if you do the whole park it is likely that you will only need about a half day or so. Rather than wasting time wandering aimlessly around Hollywood Studios, or just sitting at the campground half the day, we do Hollywood Studios and then hop a boat on over to Epcot.

    3) We love the pastry shop at France, in Epcot. On one our last days we always hop back to Epcot for a few pastries to tide us over on our way home.

Now, as for the Dining. It is never worth it for us. My husband and I just do not eat that much in day. Here is a list of all the restaurants, their menus and prices http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm I suggest you make up a mock meal plan. Be reasonable, and then compare your mock total for meals to the cost of the Dining Plan. On the plus side you do get to pay for all of your food before you even get there with the Dining Plan, but depending on the plan there are some limits as to where and how many credits your meals will cost you. You are also charged for the number of nights you are staying there... so, if you check-in, due to a late flight, at 11:00pm you have been charged $100 for that day for food. Granted, you can use those credits another day, but why spend that much when a pizza would suffice for a late arrival.

Just do your research. If you are content to spend each day in just one park, then don't waste your money on the Hopper. And, if there are kids or picky eater adults, make sure you compare the Dining Plan price total to your daily "meal plan."|||Ive have always planned my trips to Disney on my own and usually stay off-site renting a house or condo. This year we booked with the dining plan (we didnt choose to go with the park hopper becasue we have been to the parks 25 plus times) and found it extremely worthwhile. You can average $30-$60 each meal, depending on what you eat, where and how many people (we had just 3 of us) So a 3 meal a day plan is really a great deal. We went with the dining plan that included one quick serve and one seated meal and whe nwe go back plan to do it again. Definately worth the money . As to sharing, its hard to say what your expectations are, but basically its sandwichs and pizza so maybe small kids can share but it probably would be a stretch|||I wouldn't go with the hopper option. The parks are pretty large, and if you're staying for more than a few days you'll have plenty of time to spend in each park.

The meal deals are a good deal.
    |||Yes, you will almost definitely come out ahead using the quick service plan. You can look at the menus and prices at http://www.allearsnet.com and kind of get an idea. Usually the quick service meals cannot really be shared between two people. There's maybe a couple of places you could share, but most places you really can't.

Hopper tickets - personally, I don't think it is worth it. If you are a seasoned Disney traveler, maybe. But for most of us, we can find plenty to do staying in just one park a day. It will take you at least an hour, and that's being conservative, to get out of one park, load up, and arrive at the next park. Probably 2 hours is closer to reality. It's a lot of wasted time to me. |||The hopper option on tickets lets you go to more than one park in a day. If you're traveling with young children, it's not worth it - they are too tired. My husband and I go often and use the hopper option because we'll frequently go to one park during the day, and walk over to Epcot at night (we usually stay at the Beach Club). If this is your first trip, don't get it - the parks are exhausting, and there is so much to see and do, you don't need it.

Food: I don't eat much, so we don't get the meal plan, it's too much food! Portions everywhere are plenty to split and none of the restaurants mind splitting meals. For kids, there are plenty of food options and they really are pretty affordable. The meal plan benefits those who eat well and eat all their meals. The cost of food at the park is not unreasonable - beverage costs are tho.....we keep soda and bottled water in our room to bring with us to the park because those things are costly ($4 for a bottle of water and $3 for a soda).

Have fun. There are some great Disney websites that give info, along with calendars that have refurbishments dates for rides, and events that are going on there while you're there. Also, if you're going during the holidays - an event not to miss is the Osborne Festival of Lights - it's fantastic! Make reservations early for any character dining you want to do and have fun!

    www.allears.net
www.mousesavers.com |||I've never done ONLY the quick service meal plan, but if you do the counter service, quick service, snack meal option, you come out money ahead...and it's amazing how much food you can get!

The "hopper" option is one that most people feel they want, but don't actually use. They want the option to go from one park to another, but in reality, one generally spends the day at whatever theme park one enters at the start of their day. If I ever had to purchase Disney tickets again, I'd think long and hard before adding the "park hopper" option to them.|||You can find the prices for food in the parks at this site:
    www.allears.net

My family finds that we often share meals, but it really depends on your group. I can always share with my 8 year old and 2 year old, but my 14 year old really needs his own meal.

As far as the park hopper option, it depends on your plan. We used a planning service on our last trip and they were great. They planned out our itinerary and then told us which tickets to get. This was great because we didn't spend money on options or extra days that we didn't need. So, I would try to plan out and itinerary or have your planner do it for you, and then I would get the tickets that match that plan.
Also, my planner told me that you can always upgrade your tickets there if you want, but you can't downgrade. So, if you decide you want to hop, you can add it on down there.|||-personally i don't think the park hopper option is worth the extra $50 per person. it takes time out of your day to get from one park to another. a good 30 minutes at least to get out of one park, transport to another, and enter another park.
i like doing one park per day much much better. and pluse then you save $200 for other expenses.

-the quick service meal plan is a new meal plan and yes every meal plan is totally worth the money. a quick service meal will cost you $10 per person per meal. so 3 meals per day for 4 people will coast you $120 per day vs. $100 per day with the meal plan.
and NO 1 quick service meal is not enough to feed 2 people and havethem be satisfied.
you are better off getting the meal plan. you won't regret it.

have a great time!|||Every year i go to Walt Disney World and i get the Disney Dining Plan and I love it. It saves us a lot. the price range for food can be anywhere from and ice cream for $1.50 or a meal at the Brown Derby for $100. As far as portions I would say that each person should get their own plate but it depends on how much you can eat. I'm a teen girl and can't finnish a chicken wrap from Peco Bill's. I also always get the park hopper option because it is to hard to cordinate reservations with firework shows and extra magic hours so i would definately say pay the extra $30 per person but that is a pay once thing. you buy that once and you have it for the rest of your stay.|||I think the park hopper is definitely worth the cost! You don't have to worry about using all of your tickets because the park hopper takes only one ticket for the entire day and you can get into all of the parks. It's helpful if you decide you want to visit a park, leave, and then hit up another park for lunch or dinner. It's also helpful if there are certain fireworks shows you want to see or parades but are intending on spending your day at a completely different park.

I think all of the meal plans are well worth it. We got the basic meal plan, as they didn't have the quick service one when I used it, and it saved us hundreds of dollars! I would suggest if you are taking kids to do the basic meal plan if you can swing it, so that you can experience some of the table service restaurants that Disney has to offer. As far as meal pricing, with the quick service restaurants, my husband and I, without the meal plan, would have spent about $30 for the both of us. So, it can get pricey. When we went, the portions were great, but I have also been informed that Disney has cut back a little bit on that.

All in all, I would recommend the meal plan. You're going to save much more money, even if you bought meals and split them. Whatever resort you go to, buy a refillable mug for everyone! You pay one flat rate for the mug itself and the refills are unlimited! Also, I would highly recommend visiting www.tourguidemike.com This guy has made several trips to Disney World and most of the members on that site, like me, are people who have been to Disney multiple times and have some great advice! Good luck with your trip!|||Last time we went we got the park hopper. It was just my hubby and I and Epcot & MGM really didn't impress us too much so we were done there by noon & went to Magic Kingdom & then went back to Epcot on one night to see the night show & same with MGM. It all depends on your interest.

We also did the dining; I think it's well worth it. The plan we had (they've changed since we last went) we got a quick service meal, snack, and one dinner. If we were paying for our dinners we would have easily spent over $200 per night & around $30 per lunch. So I think it's worth it. |||For my family, we do not do the Hopper option. My son is Autistic, and does not want to leave a given park once we arrive in it, until the end of the day. Plus, I think it matters more, if you are bringing your own transportation, or using Disney transportation. I think using Disney buses would make using park hopper harder, than having your own car. I'd done Disney with my own car, and using their buses, but never had the hopper, so I can't say with certainty.

Yes, Yes, YES! GET A MEAL PLAN!! It saves you so much money. The quick service plan doesn't force you to plan ahead so much, but the others do.

Your best bet is to look at the menus on a site, like allears.net. If for nothing else, you get an idea of the cuisine. Suppose you don't like what's on the menu. Better to find out now, at home, then when you are inside the park, and have to trek all the way across it to go to a place that has food you like.

The time you save by planning your meals is also worth a lot. Say you are in Epcot, and you don't like Norweigan or Mexican cuisine. The Canada steakhouse, and British pub are on the other side of the lake! Then when you get over there, they have a 2 hour waiting list? ARGH!

Get the plan, plan your meals. Do that if nothing else.|||It depends how many days you are going if you should "need " the park hopper. You can always upgrade say if you get there and decided you should have it.
I book Disney all the time and there is only a 10 difference in the QS meal plan and the regular dining plan - me I would spend the extra 10.00 and get the regular plan! I have use the regular one 9 times and If you added up all the savings it would be over 14,700 total.. if that tells you how much of a savings it is!!
There are many ways to plan and get the most out of your meal plans.
At www.wdwtravels.com they help you with optimize your vacation on a budget.
I will never eat without the dining plan. :)

My dad and I are going to Disney World next year for a Star Wars weekend and we need to know how much does a Disney World package with 2 tickets, hotel, and airfare from Charlotte to Orlando cost? Also can you give me advice for the Star Wars weekends? I am dressing up as Darth Vader for the Star Wars weekends and can I meet and greet Darth Vader at the Star Wars weekends? Also I need to know about books on Disney World and can my dad get one from Barnes and Noble? I can't wait to go to Disney World with my dad next year and it will be a dream come true for me because I love Star Wars and Disney!!!! So can you give me info about Disney World via email? Is Disney World fun and when are the 2009 Star Wars weekends? Is Anakin going to be there next year and can I get my photo taken with Anakin Skywalker? Thank you for your help. I will pass this info to my dad so he can start planning our magical trip to Disney World!!! Is Disney's Magical Express free when I book with US Airways? Thank you so much!!! |||EASILY UNDER A $1000|||Wow, lots of questions to answer! I'll do my best!

Count on around $80-$100 a night if you stay at a Disney value resort. You could spend more than that if you wish. It is difficult to pinpoint a price for airfare since the airline industry is in such turmoil. Go to a website like travelocity.com or priceline.com and shop for ticket prices on the dates you wish to go. For the latest park ticket prices, go to disneyworld.com.

Star Wars weekends are typically in June. I'm sure there is a meet and greet Darth Vader sometime during those weekends. Near the Star Tours ride next to the life sized AT-AT model is the Jedi Training Academy, a show in which lucky kids get chosen to learn some lightsaber moves, then get a chance to test them out on Darth Vader himself! My son was chosen, and it was a high point of his vacation. If you do this, get there before the show and get up to the front row because I did not see them choose anyone not in the front.

If you want a great book, then you should get "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World". The 2009 edition should be out before you go on your trip. This was the best $20 I spent in preparation of our trip. The touring plans tell you what order to visit the attractions to avoid crowds. My family never waited more than 15 minutes for any ride during our July trip! June and July are very busy times, so you will want a plan to maximize your fun, and it is not fun waiting in 2 hour lines in the hot Florida sun!

From what I understand, Disney's Magical Express is available to anyone needing transportation from Orlando International to a Disney resort.

As for other guests during Star Wars weekends, you'll just have to wait until time gets closer.

I hope you have a blast on your trip!

Could you please find me an affordable disney world 7 day 7 night package

    December 27-january 3

affordable for 6 people|||Your best option to find such a package is to go to the YourMagicalJourneys.com website and contact one of their people there. They can get you a great deal.|||I cannot price it since I do not know ages and tickets vary depending on age. Post additional info and I will try to help.

--------------------------------------鈥?br> I did some research. Since you yangest turned 3, the only option you have is suite/villa wich will be too pricy on Disney property or 2 rooms at Value resort at Disney. The only available for your dates I found is All Star Sport resort. 2rooms plus 7 day base tickets will be $3,672
The other option is to stay off property and to rent a car. Car will cost you at least $200 for a week plus parking at parks $14 a day and at hotel(vary). I priced 2bdr villa at Fantasy World Club Villas which is $1,003 for a week for your dates, price increases around New Year. Plus $1,338 for 7 day tickets. Total is 2,641 including car rental and parking fees at parks. Villas also have kitchen and you can buy food on your way to hotel to have at least breakfast and late dinner at your room. One thing to keep in mind is that parks will be crazily overcrowded, esp on New Years Eve. On this day parks close to capacity early and while you stay on site you are guaranteed to enter at least one park, there is no guarantee for off site guests, so if you stay off site, you will have to get to the park you want at rope drop(openning) and stay the whole day without leaving for midday breaks. Also did your 3yo, already turned 3. If not she/he may enter parks for free and then you will be able to get one room at some Disney resorts but it will be crowded in your room and no kitchen. Also if you want to get a table at any of Disney restaurants, you must make a reservation as soon as you book. I priced against Expedia.com and Disney.com If you decide to go with Disney hotel, do not do it online since you need 2 rooms, you need to be sure 2 are available and you can book only 1 at a time. Call Disney at (407)939-7675. Those are the cheapest options possible. Feel free to ask more questions if you need.|||You can go on the Disney web site and do this yourself.

Have a great time!|||If you are making Disney reservations, look no further than the Disney website, www.disneyworld.com. I know that you can get Disney deals all over the place, however buyer beware! Those deals are less expensive for a reason. First of all, no matter what you are told staying on site IS A MUST. If you do not stay on the grounds at a Disney hotel, you are not able to take advantage of the perks for Disney resort guests. They offer Extra magic hours, where one of the parks is open early and one late for resort guests only. Also, if a park is crowded on a particular day, they may restrict entrance to that park. If you are a resort guest, there is no restrictions for entering. I acutally saw this my last trip. I was entering the Magic Kingdom, and there was a line to get in. The people being held up were non-resort guests, and boy let me tell you they were upset. Another perk is the use of the Disney transportation system. The other hotels all have shuttles, but in many cases either it costs extra or you have to stay on their schedule. With the Disney resorts there is no more than a 10 minute wait for a bus back to your resort, no matter which one you are in.

I always book the reservations myself, as I have a hard time paying someone else to do it for me. By doing it yourself you save money, and the site is easy to use. You can go on the Disney website and do a resort comparison, check flights, and get park passes all in one. If you are like me and really paranoid, you can get all the info you need, then call them and the cast members who do the booking are very helpful.

When getting your park passes, make sure to get the Park Hopper option for your passes. It costs a little bit more, but you basically can then come and go as you please to whichever park you want. Like I stated before, if the Magic Kingdom is crowded on a particular day, you can shift gears, jump on the Monorail and go to Epcot. Without the Park hopper option you CAN NOT do this. My family and I like to go to different parks each day, like Epcot in the am, and MGM for the light show in the evening. Without the park hopper option, it is not possible.

If you need any more info, I would recommend picking up the Birnbaum's guide to WDW from the local bookstore. There are plenty of guide books out there, but that one has always worked the best for us. Also, there is a Birnbaum's guide that if For Kids by Kids. I always pick up that book and let the kids decide what the must see attractions are for them. It makes planning the trip that much more fun when everyone is involved. Also, if you have questions, please feel free to ask. I don't work for any travel agency or get paid to answer, I just love talking to people about Disney and all it has to offer. In fact, I am taking my wife and kids along with the in-laws to Disney in three weeks, and we can't wait!!

But the dinning plan is a great deal if you are the type of person who eats out on your vacation. If you do then go for it, if you normally don't do sit down restaurants then it reallys isn't a good deal.

HAve fun!|||If you plan on eating in the parks or Disney resorts, then it's definitely worth it to get add on the dining. If you are planning on eating outside of Disney, then it may not be worth it. If your planning on staying on property and eating there the packages are so worth it!|||We just got back from Disney, using the deluxe dining plan. If you plan on doing the signature restaurants which require a double meal on your dining plan, then it is worth the price paid. If you just plan on one big meal a day, then the Standard plan would work just fine. We had many, many snacks left over from the deluxe plan because we ate at two restaurants per day and were too filled up for snacks, but we stocked up for the plane ride before we left to use them. Hi my 2 freinds and I want to go to Walt Disney world for a couple of nights. Were all willing to spend $300 or $400 each and are looking for a all in one package including air travel. We live in Connecticut. Any advice or help is appreciated, Thanks Jared|||hey bro, I know everybody is into the expedia and all that. I travel all the time and trust me I'm not rich. The best way to travel is to do your research and price the things you'll need seperate. I have always except once found myself a better deal at great places, it just takes time and patience. For instince you'll probably be leaving out of BDL in Hartford. Best bet is Southwest airlines going to Orlando. If you book a few weeks out you can find airfare for $250 or less. Check out the big carriers too, just look on their website, do your homework. Now the 3 of you can share a room I'm sure. Stay at any of the disney properties nand you won't have to worry about transportation. Sad news is not much money to be saved on disney tickets, but you can check out www.mousesavers.com for some additional info. Another option is to go to Universal Island of Adventure, you can go there for like $80 for the whole time your there, and it's pretty fun. Type in orlando coupons or dining coupons in orlando and try finding deals for your meals. Times are tight but if you take the time and do your research you can find good deals and have a blast.
Let me wire you up on this and then I'm done, I go to Orlando at least once a year from Michigan. I usually take a good size group with me eight or more but have done it with just me and my wife before. I found airfare for $170 roundtrip two weeks from now, And I ALWAYS rent a vacation home. This year I got a 6 bedroom home for $1300 split between 13 people. The house sleeps 14, so that's $100 per person for the whole week. When my wife and went it was $800 for a 3 bed house, they have some for less than that. So if you look at it every person in my party is paying $270 per person for a whole week! We're all chipping in on the car rental also. Now you and your friends split the cost of a house, that's like $200-$250 for the whole week. Almost all the houses have there own private inground pool. Then you get your passes for universal $80. So it's possible to have a blast with only a few bucks. Try looking at the website with the homes. www.floridabestvillas.com I've been using them for four years straight now, the owners name is George and I've had NO problems. Take care and have some fun.|||$300 or $400 each including air? Thats pretty difficult to do. Definitely wont be on Disney Property.

I was able to find this deal, I think it is the best you can get. I says starting at $469 including air, the best I could see was $599. You are going to need to be very flexible with your travel dates.

    |||It is unfortunate information to share, but the flight alone will cost well more than you current budget. My suggestion is go to www.waltdisneyworld.com and do a price check of the trip you would like to take. That will assist you in knowing how much money to save.

June, 7 nights, 2 adults... we want the dining plan and park hopper tickets? Anyone know of where I can find a great deal?
Thanks~!|||I have to strongly disagree. Go to the Disney website and search out the discounts definitely. BUT You are doing no ne any favors by not calling a certified Disney planner Travel Agent to double check the rates. I use AAA or Dreams Unlimited and they consistently save me hundreds of dollars on every trip. There are others then these two I just know them to be reliable. Any Certified Disney Planner will do.

You get the exact same benefits as you would with Disney.com The big difference is that the Planners will rebook your trip if a lower price comes available and credit you the savings. Disney won't do that unless you see the discount on your own and call and ask them to do it for you.

It's not a huge savings but given the choice I'd rather keep the money whether its $400 or $20. Why spend it if you don't have to? Makes no sense to me.

Personally I say check all three (which is what I always do) and go with the lowest. It costs you nothing to try and you could be passing up a savings. Its a big purchase so any savings is money in your pocket. Why give it to someone else. It's just silly not to shop around isn't it?|||To get the dining plan you will need to stay at a Disney resort. Just go on the disney web site to book. I have tried travel agents and they didn't get me any better deal than I could myself on the disney web site.
Disney park tickets prices are closely guarded by disney. You may find a slight discount (AAA had one) but you will not find a "great deal"|||Go to Disney.com click on special offers, you will see Get a up to $750 card offer, click. It is available in June but if I remember correct, not the whole June, so play with your dates. You will get $300/$500/$750 card for staying at value/moderate/deluxe resort. the prices are good but I want to make sure it is a legit site. Has anyone every used it? Does anyone know any trusted vacation package sites for Disney World besides the usual orbitz, etc.?|||I am always a little leary of any site offering "discounted" Disney packages, because Disney does not offer "discounts." There are variations on prices when it comes to different resorts and different times of the year, however their prices on tickets never change.

I recommend going through a travel agent, calling 407-WDISNEY directly or booking through http://www.disneyworld.com. That way you know you are getting exactly what you pay for and nothing less. If you are only looking for tickets those can be purchased at a Disney Store.|||I don't know anything about the company you listed so I can't say anyting about them - good or bad.

You asked about other sites and I have a travel agency - www.buildabettermousetrip.com - that specializes in Walt Disney World vacations. We are Authorized Walt Disney World Vacation Planners.

At Build A Better Mouse Trip, we book directly with Walt Disney World and all payments for packages go directly to the Disney Travel Company - never through our business accounts.

We don't charge any surcharges or extra fees. Also, any applicable promotions or discounts Disney releases can be applied to your reservation.

We offer additional services designed to make your trip better and the planning process less stressful:

    1. We're available to answer your questions about the theme parks, resorts, restaurants, etc.

    2. We help you with a "best days" itinerary that puts you in the least busy park for each day of your trip. We factor in things like fireworks and Fantasmic! which isn't always offered.

    3. We make dining reservations on your behalf - subject to availability, of course.

    4. We help with touring plans that make sure you see everything you want to see in a way that minimizes lines and waits.

This depends completely on your budget. My favorite way to go is Grand Floridian or Boardwalk with the premium package.

If you have a budget you are trying to stick to, check out the different levels of resorts. There is value, moderate and deluxe. I definately would add dining, even if it is the basic plan. It will save you about 40% off of your dining.

Because you have two teenagers I would also add the water park and fun option to your park hopper. This will get you into water parks and also Disney Quest, these are great for teenagers.

April is pretty close, so you should definately start looking into your options. Hotels will begin selling out very soon.

If you have never been to Disney or haven't been there in a while I would book through a travel agent. The packages have a lot of details to them this year and are very different from before. To get the best out of your trip you will want to know all the inside tips.

I always use a travel agent ( www.mousetrips.com ). It doesn't cost me anything and I get so many extra benefits it's no question.

If you have any more questions just let me know and I will try to help you.|||Get the Magic Your Way plan with the Disney Dining option. It's by far the best value, in my opinion. • The only two savings Disney really offers is AAA (I think you can only book room only on your own, if you want a package you have to go with AAA to book it). You also have the military savings, but I don't think you can get a package with this discount either, but I could be wrong on that, I've never used it.

Disney offers promotions for most dates during the year (except during the summer months and like Christmas time) For example, right now, they have the free dining for September, their best promotion of the year. When Disney has a promotion out for packages, you can't beat the deal. Usually what Disney offers is going to be the best price you can find.

The best thing to do is call Disney as ask what is available for you and they will try to help you find some sort of savings. When Disney offers a discount code, it can only be booked during certain dates. So, you just have to kind of look around to see what you can find. If you are just looking for a general code that can be used any time, there really isn't much available. You can call Disney to see if they have anything available for AAA and things like that.

Hope this helps!|||If possible, have someone that lives in Florida get the tickets as there is a Florida state resident discount and you can save more if they get them on a military base. You are pretty much going to find the same price for Disney no matter where you go. If you do find a differnt price, it will be very small. I tend to look more at service than just price. Here a few recommendations to help you.

Stay on site. It is a lot nicer than having to have a car to get around or rely on off-property transportation. Disney's transportation works really well. The service and quality of the stay will be much nicer at Disney than an off-property. Value resorts run just about the same amount as some off-site and you will be a lot closer.

Tickets this year have a great price. The longer the ticket, the more the price averages down per day, down to $30 if you get a 10 day. You can then add on hopping and water parks. So you can get the exact ticket you want.

The dining plan is also a great deal this year. It is really affordable and can save you a lot of money.

There are some online discounters. I don't recommend using them to book the trip. One reason, you have to take care of everything for your trip. If you don't know a lot about Disney this can be really difficult and you may not get everything you want. Plus, some sites don't even offer Disney resorts, the ones that do have been higher than what I can get thru my travel agent. Finally, I have known some people that booked thru an online discounter, arrived at the resort and discovered there booking was never made and they didn't have a place to say. The site would not do anything, so they had to pay for the vacation twice. From what I have heard from a lot of people, online discounters can be a nightmare and a lot of times the problems can't even be fixed. It's really a bad way to start out your vacation.

I highly recommend http://mousetrips.com/ This is the travel agency I use to book all of my trips. They are wonderful and will provide you with the best service. They are quick and can help you with everything you need. They will answer all your questions, take care of the booking, dining, etc. They can help you to plan a really nice trip and get the most for what you are spending. I use them for all my trips and I have been more than satisfied every time with them. They will even lower your price if a discount comes out, you don't even have to tell them and they will have it done. They don't charge anything for the service and their price is the same as Disney. They really take the stress out of the planning so you can enjoy it.

Hope this helps!|||Right now go to disney.com. They are running a special for a value priced resort and tickets for about 1500 bucks which is a really good price. It does NOT include transportation (flight).

I got my hotel through hotwire, plane tix through southwest, and disney tickets through a travel agent.|||Last year we booked everything through the Disney site. They gave me the best prices on airfare.|||Why not go to Disney .com see what they have to offer. or try priceline .com. Or at a last resort you could call a trasvel agent

A friend of mine JUST DECIDED to come along. But we already bought the package for 5. So she would be the 6th person coming. What I'm asking is can she still stay with us at the villa & just buy whatever it costs for the ticket & everything?|||Well, yes, but you can just call Disney and add her to the package. That would be easier. You'll have to report her as a sixth person in the room, anyway, for fire safety reasons. So instead of trying to figure all this out, just let them figure it out for you.|||i would call disney and add the person to the package.
this way the person will get a key to the world card like everyone else which is your room key, park tickets, and dining plan if you have one.
if you don't do this then the person will have no room key, will not be able to go on attractions during the extra magic hours, and will not be eligible for the dining plan if the rest of you got it.
the max occupancy for a villa is usually larger than 5 so adding a 6th person is not gonna make that any more expensive if thats what you're worried about.|||Call the place where you booked the package and add them on.

  • My girlfriend and I are thinking about going to Disney World. I've been there when I was a kid but she has never been. Once we looked up the information we were overwhelmed with the many options available. We are mid 20's and like to have fun but we dont want to be stuck doing only little kiddie stuff.

What Park is the best for us? Resort? Package deal? Any advice will help really! THANKS!!!|||I would do your hotel, tickets and meals through disney and get air through AAA or a site like orbitz. You can package your air with Disney but depending on where you are flying in from you can usually get it cheaper. Southwest usually has really good air so you might to check them if your home city uses them.

    My suggestion is this.

1: Do all the parks. There is kiddy stuff at each of the parks but there is also a great deal of adult and older kid stuff as well. Even then some of the kiddy stuff is just as fun. For example many think that the Laugh Floor at Magic Kingdom is just for kids. NO WAY. Everyone in my family from little kids to my uncle who is in his 60s was crying we were laughing so hard. I guess my point is just do not knock something because it is designed for little kids. Plus you are at Disney, it is fun to be a kid. Anyway like I said there is stuff for everyone to do at every park.

2: I would suggest you allow one day per park, a day for downtown disney and relaxing and a day for anything you want to do again. Works out to about a week. Also get the park hopper pass if you can afford it. Can really come in handy if the weather changes or you want to spend a day at one park but do dinner at another.

3: GET THE MEAL PLAN!!! Right now if you stay Mid Aug, I think the 15th through Oct 1 you can get a free meal plan if you stay at one of the moderate resorts. If you stay at one of the value you can upgrade for a little bit more money. If you do not go during the free deal still get it. It saves a POOP load of money. It cost my husband and I $80 a day (total) for the plan and that gave us one snack, one quick serve and one nice sit down meal a day and we were eating $80 to $150 a day in food. One night we ate at the Coral Reef and our bill was $90 so within one meal our plan for the day was paid for with an extra $10 left over. The only thing the meal plan does not include is tips for the nice sit down meals. Like I said though it saves a TON of money and would give your girl and you a ton of nice places you can eat that might not have been otherwise able to afford.

4: If you are looking to save money stay at the Pop Century Resort, it is the nicest and newest of the value resorts plus they have their own busline so it is faster. With their moderate and expensive resorts they are all nice, it is just a matter of what you enjoy best. Thus I suggest you just take a moment to look over the hotels and see what they offer (rooms, pools, food, shops, etc).

If you have other questions feel free to send me a message.

Overall though the best advise I can give is get the meal plan!

Have fun.|||Well, starting August 15, if you book a 5 night/ 6 day vacation at Disney, you get the dining plan free. I feel like Epcot is more for adults because you explore different countries and they have very few rides. Im 15, and I really don't like Epcot, I feel like its boring but my mom loves it. I only like the rides there. I suggest getting the free dining plan package. You can stay at a value resort and get the quick service dining plan and get counter service meals. Or a moderate/deluxe hotel and get the regular dining plan with 1 counter service meal and 1 table service meal.|||Wow there is just way too much to type here... I'll include links with super-helpful information. For adults I would suggest one of their "moderate" resorts and visiting every park, plus Downtown Disney and Treasure Island - but only one of the 2 water parks (probably Typhoon Lagoon). The kiddie stuff is at every park, but the kiddiest will be Magic Kingdom. Spend the most time at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios for more adult fun. Oh yeah and if you like roller coasters head over to Islands of Adventure. It's super-close and FULL of thrill rides!! Okay here are those links ;)|||There are a ton of options so it can be a little overwhelming!
First of all, you should think of how much you want to spend on your resort hotel. Disney has value, moderate, and deluxe resort options. If you want a value resort it is cheaper but the rooms are smaller. One we stay at a lot (My husband and I are 23) is Pop Century. If you want larger rooms and a moderate resort the Port Orleans and Caribbean beach resorts are nice too! If you want to splurge, all the deluxe are great!
When it comes to the parks, they each have something for all ages. Magic Kingdom may seem like it mainly for kids, but a lot of the rides are favorites of adults as well, like all the mountains, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. Also since you're going with your girlfriend, watching the fireworks over the castle is amazing! Epcot has a lot for adults as you can spend the day exploring the countries. I'm a Disney travel agent so if you need any help figuring out vacation packages, where good places to eat are, or help planning an itinerary my email is misty@magicalvacationplanner.com I can give you more advice on the parks. Also, when picking what you want in your vacation package I highly suggest the dining plan! We have gone down with and without it and we'll never go without it again. It's so nice to be able to eat where ever you want and not worry about how much it will cost. You get to try so many restaurants and if you go to Disney before Oct 2, the meal plan is free! It saves a TON of money! Have fun!!|||Try to pick a resort by Downtown Disney& Pleasure Island featured themed nightclubs, restaurants, and shops
The closest resort to there is the Port Orleans! French Quarter or Riverside. You can take the Boat right there..

I bought a packaged vacation through Disney's website. I picked out non-refundable tickets from Delta set at good times, but with a non-direct flight. However, while searching on Southwestern's site I found out I can pay at LEAST half the price for a direct and shorter flight. Is there anyway I can cancel these flight plans, add Southwestern's, and not be out too much money ? I bought vacation insurance through Disney, I don't know if that would help the issue or not.|||Not likely.
That packaged vacation is probably a deal between Disney and Delta.
Plus, travel insurance does not cover "I found a cheaper flight and want to cancel my non-refundable airline tickets"
The only hope you would have for canceling your Delta tickets would be if THEY changed your flight plans significantly (by more than a couple of hours); then you may have the option of canceling. But by then, the cheaper flights on Southwest will probably be gone anyway.|||Nope.........should have done your homework before you hit the select button...........sorry...........get the word........package..........they mean it.............

Hi. I am planning a trip to Disney World for next year's Star Wars weekends and my dad and I never been to Disney World and we need to know everything about Disney World! Where can I find 2 cheap Disney World tickets in a cheap Disney World package plus flights from Charlotte to Orlando plus Disney's Magical Express shuttle service? When is next year's Star Wars weekends and is Anakin going to be there next year? I need info so badly so I can help my dad plan our magical trip to Disney World. Where can I get my photo taken with Pooh, Tigger, Goofy, and Stitch? Can I get my photo taken with Anakin? Please post good advice and good feedback for my dad and I. Where can I download free Disney songs? Do I need a Disney World guide book? Thank you for your help!|||1."Where can I find 2 cheap Disney World tickets in a cheap Disney World package plus flights from Charlotte to Orlando plus Disney's Magical Express shuttle service?"
If you simply go to the Disney World site and set up a vacation package, they can plan the whole thing for you and price it.
For cheapER tickets try TheOfficialTicketCenter.com, UndercoverTourist.com and MapleLeafTickets.com I don't think you can get Magical Express with this.

    2. When is next year's Star Wars weekends and is Anakin going to be there next year?
The 2010 tickets haven't gone on sale yet. I bet they announce the weekends with that.

    3. Where can I get my photo taken with Pooh, Tigger, Goofy, and Stitch?
The characters roam all over the parks, but there are designated spots in all four parks to meet like four characters at a time.

    4. Where can I download free Disney songs?
Free Disney radio... not exactly a download: uabmagic.com

5.Do I need a Disney World guide book?
Honestly, I have friends who are in WDW right now for the first time and they only know a few attractions and they are fine. A cheaper alternative is to go to touringplans.com and subscribe. I think its $7. THey give you touringplans and 'cheat sheets'. that should be enough.|||Darth,
you have been asking this question over and over. Your father needs to go on the Disney web site and see packages there. There are NO cheap tickets to Disney. Disney is expensive to go to. Cheap and Disney do not go together.
SW month for next year will not be posted till next year.
If you stay at any disney resort you will get the Magical Express for free.
You can get your photo with pooh, tigger, goofy and stitich at the Magic Kingdom.|||To find cheap disney world packages and flights anywhere around the world visit http://discounttravelpackages.blogspot.c鈥?/a> and http://websoni.com/|||I guess with the crisis going on, less people are going to Disney World and they must be sending out special offers to attract more clients. So keep an eye on TV commercials, advertisements, ETC.

If you think going to Disney World is expensive, imagine us that we have to go from South America (party of 4), but I'll tell you that is worth every penny and we have gone 4 times already!

The best is to get a package that includes staying at a Disney Hotel, Disney All Stars is a cheap one and you get the chance to get in early before the crowds gather up.

The best places to get photographed with disney characters are MAGIC KINGDOM & ANIMAL KINGDOM, Stitch and Star Wars characters are more likable to hang out at MGM Studios.

In every Theme Park they will give you a brochure that it's really a map of the theme park plus it's attractions and schedules. Go there really early then for lunch go to Mc Donald's near Thyphoon Lagoon and spend some sunny afternoons at eather typhoon Lagoon or blizzard Beach, then after 5pm back to the theme parks.

Buy a 5 day Disney Park Hopper plus Two. This will enable you to go from park to park, twice go to Typhoon Lagoon, Pleasure Island, Blizzard beach. The unused days never expire so you can use it on a future trip, even if it's 10 years after! 5 days is a lot for Disney but keep in mind that maybe you get a rain storm that could ruin your day.

Learn how to use the FASTPASS, I couldn't use it more than 4 times in one day (with all our experience) and go to the best attractions many times! You should ask what are the best attraction at each Park|||Try looking on the Disney World website. They have tons of information about everything. If you look on the calendar, it says when exactly everything is.
    May 22, 2009 - May 24, 2009
    May 29, 2009 - May 31, 2009
    June 5, 2009 - June 7, 2009
    June 12, 2009 - June 14, 2009
are the dates for this year .. so they will probably be similar next year. The Disney website can also help you with just about everything else; they have a trip planner and can help you find a low price for airfare and hotel rooms. The admission to the park is expensive, but if your going for that specific event, then your probably willing to pay.
All Disney hotels offer free shuttles to the parks. You can get your picture taken at the Magic Kingdom, or at Character breakfast's (tons of fun, I recommend it.) You can get your picture taken with any character at any of the parks (although sometimes there is a line).
You can download Disney songs from whatever you use to download music, just type in Disney songs.
If you are still looking for help, try buying the Disney World guide book, from your local book store. It's pretty bang on with just about everything!
Anyways, good luck planning your trip!

My boyfriend and me are going to go to Disney World...and I am trying to get everything together. If I book through the Disney World website, which will include my room, airplane tickets, park tickets, basically the Magic Your Way package...how will they know what kind of room I want?
Will I have to go though the resort's website after I go though disney? I just want to know the steps for booking a Disney vacation through their website.|||The Disney website has different resorts you can view with different price ranges Value, Moderate, Deluxe, Villas...Once you decide which hotel you want to stay, you can request certain room accomodations...for instance, a room that's closest to the bus transportation...there are also some rooms with a king sized bed instead of two doubles...you may put in a request for that as well....If you look at the resort hotel maps, you can even request which building # you want to stay in...all these are not guaranteed but Disney does their best to accomodate. If you scroll down at the bottom page of disney website, it has both e-mail and a telephone contact number...I have e-mailed several times for certain room requests, and they are very good responding...

Hi my family and I going to be traveling to Orlando, FL this coming June for vacation. Do you guys know any good travel agencies or sites that offer great Disney World packages? or Universal? It has to include park tickets, hotel and dining meal (or without the meal plan which ever). We most likely travel by car (not sure what are the plans are yet), but traveling by plane is not happening that's for sure.

It's only going to be 3 or 4 adults and two kids (un less it depends on age). My dad recently bought a package from Miami International Vacations (MIV) and honestly don't BOTHER! buying anything from them. They are a bunch of rip offs. They were charging him more than he already pay. So I'm not sure whether he's going to get his money back or not, but we are hoping we could find a reliable site that does offer good affordable packages for families. If you please know any, please let me know ok. Thanks.

-- Cindy|||The bulk of your cost will be tickets, and there's really no discounts available there. You won't find deals any better than straight off of their websites. Your other option is to search for a Disney travel agent - if you don't have one locally, there are some available online. They sometimes will get deals before other people can find them, and they know where to look. They can do the Universal part of your vacation, too. Sounds like you are going mid-June, which is the height of the season, so you just can't really find deals at that time.

  • Planning a 10 day Disney Trip in Summer of 2010, for 2 Sr. Citizens, 2 Adults, 18yr, 16, 14, 10, 8, & 4 yr old. Will be at Disney World for 1-2 days and probably Blizzard Beach for a day. Not interested in Park hopping! What packages do you recommend for staying on site and off? What attractions do you consider a "must see" for all the kids' first Florida Trip?|||You should contact WDW and ask about the 'Magical Gathering' experience. These packages are specifically for groups of 8 or more, and have special options, such as the Grand Gathering Dinner Experience at Epcot.

Contact 407-WDISNEY and speak to a Magical Gathering cast member.
    http://allears.net/pl/magath.htm

    *~*~*~*
Note: Park Hopping is an extra option that can be added if you wish. It is not required. Many people love it (my family included) however, there are just as many people that think it is a waste of time and money.

    *~*~*~*
The "Must Sees" for kids would be pretty much all of the rides in the Magic Kingdom. They are mostly themed for the whole family, but a few rides have height requirements.
http://allears.net/tp/mk/mk_attr.htm|||I think you would get better value for 10 by putting your own package together. Staying onsite is nice but by the time you bought all those hotel rooms your budget would be bust !

Instead of falling over eachother in hotel rooms consider renting a vacation home. A 5 or 6 bed home can be rented direct from the owner and will cost considerably less.

For that you will get your own private pool open 24 hours and enough bedrooms for everyone to get some privacy. Plus you will have a full kitchen - even if you only eat breakfasts at the house you will save a ton of money.

For your park tickets just get either a 3 day base ticket to include waterparks (no hopping the younger kids probably won't have the stamina) or a 2 day base ticket and a single water park entry whichever is cheapest.

Must sees are the Magic Kingdom and either Epcot or Hollywood studios (depending on your kids interests). I think for kids those ages they would probably enjoy a day at Universal Studios more than Epcot. Study the park guides online to help you decide.

You don't say whether you are flying or driving in but if you are flying you will need a rental car. For flights check out Orbitz Expedia etc but also check out regional airports near you for smaller carriers like Allegiant which might be more convenient for you.

What are some websites with discounts or special packages to disney world that include the dining plan, park hopper for 5 days and we also want to stay in the all star movies resort? We are leaving on may 21st and leaving may 27th.
Please help... We are doing it for our senior trip and two people are going.|||There are lots of travel agencies that specialize in helping you take advantage of the specials that Disney offers, or you can do it yourself. Call 407-WDISNEY and talk to an agent there who can walk you through whatever discounts are available. If you have AAA you can get a slight discount through them too, so that is worth looking into. AAA travel agents can book you discounted packages with tickets and even with dining if you are interested in the dining plan. Check out www.mousesavers.com and www.allearsnet.com for information. Be patient, there are no discounts available now, but there should be some released soon.|||Like the other person said, the cheapest you're going to get is by booking it through Disney itself. Depending where you are traveling from... it may be cheaper to drive. If you live far away its cheaper to fly. I recommend Southwest. They offer two free bags for your flight and their tickets are very decently priced depending where you live. You're going to save a decent amount of money by staying at a Value Resort; such as, All-Star Movies. Most nights are under 100 dollars (except weekends), which is very "cheap" for Disney. As for the dining plan, that will save you TONS of money. Last year, I went in June, my boyfriend and I ate at Teppan Edo. Our bill was about 200 dollars. However, we had the dining plan and didn't have to pay anything. If you have AAA, the tickets are the same price that they are as Disney. Booking through a travel agent won't have much of a difference either. Booking through Disney is the best way to go.

    Other ways to save money:

Bring snacks to eat in the park. If you think you will eat more than what the dining plan provides you, bring sandwiches, chips, water, etc. into the park with you. This way you won't have to spend extra money on food that isn't reasonably priced.

You can get free ice water at any counter service restaurant. It saves you from carrying around water all day.

Have a magical time!|||You won't do any better than just purchasing it from Disney. They control the prices of their hotels, and nobody can get you (legitimate) cheap tickets.|||The WDW website is going to give you the best deal. There's no such thing as a "cheap" WDW package - it's expensive to visit, but lots of fun.

More than likely they are going to try and get the rates out before the dining needs to be booked for 2008, so it should be very close.

Just keey an eye out, it should be around the corner. You're not going to find cheap Disney anything, that's something you'll just have to accept. If you find a cheap Disney World package/tickets then you are being scammed. You can get a slight discount on a Disney World package if you are a member of AAA, but that's about it. Otherwise your best option is to book directly through Disney, either online or over the phone. Disney is always offering some type of special deal, you can check out their current offers here:

As for cheap flights, check with low-fare airlines. Southwest, Allegiant, AirTran and JetBlue have the best deals on flights that I've found. Southwest and JetBlue even allow free checked bags (the only U.S. airlines I know of that do so).|||The best chance you have at saving money on a Disney trip is by going during "value season" when they're least busy. For example, me and my family went during the last week of September/first week of October and the rates were lower at the time. A big plus is that the parks weren't swamped and we really enjoyed the space and lack of lines. You should fly into Orlando instead. :)|||go on the WDW web site. You can plug in dates, resorts and ticket options to see prices.|||Prices would be:

Hotel: You have a couple options. I would suggest getting either 2 rooms or a large room which will fit all of you. If you stay in a large room, you would have to stay in a deluxe hotel because they are the only type to fit a party as large as yours. The large rooms are called 2 bedroom suites. They have two bedrooms, a sitting area, 2 bathrooms, and ceiling fans. The first bedroom has a king sized bed and the second has 2 queens sized beds or 1 queen and a bunk bed. The parlor has a pull out sofa. They entire room can sleep all of you. Since this a large room you will get really nice amenties like evening turndown with chocolates, keys to the Club Lounge, health club access, and delievery of US Today. These rooms are currently available at Animal Kingdom Lodge for $12384, Grand Flordian for $15,032 or at Saratoga Springs for $6,948. You could to multi room which wouldn't be as nice... you would still have to stay at a deluxe resort and when you are booking you have to request that the rooms be near each other or have connecting doors.

Tickets: Assuming you are staying for 7 days ( if your staying for more you can look at the sources), the prices would be $35 for adult (ages 10 and up) and $32 for child. That is a base ticket which lets you only go to one park per day. With park hopper, allowing you to go to 2 or more parks per day the price would be $43 for adult and $40 for child. With water park and more option, allowing you to go to the waterparks and Disneyquest, the price would be $43 for adult and $39 for child. If you want both, it would be $50 for adult and $47 for child.

Actually, it would be way cheaper to stay as one group instead of a two family group. If you did want to break up into groups, you would have to stay at sepreate resorts which I wouldn't want to do.

Universal tickets - The price for adults for a 2 day pass is $135 and kids are $122.|||Airtran and Spirit Air usually have the cheapest plane tickets.

If you want to stay in a Disney hotel, then the first two weeks of December is going to be your cheapest time to go. You can usually get a value Disney hotel room (All Star Movies, All Star Music, All Star Sports, & Pop Century) for about $80-$90 a night. If you want to stay off Disney property then there are a lot of good hotels and motels in the immediate area. Just go to a travel website like Orbitz and you can search for them there. I just wouldn't recommend booking your hotel through a travel website. All of the Disney hotels provide a free bus service to all of the Disney parks, water parks, and hotel. Most of the non Disney hotels also offer a bus service to the parks. There really isn't anyplace beside the actual Disney website where you can purchase tickets and package from. BUT, that doesn't mean that Disney never runs specials. They sometimes around this time of year offer a deal where purchase so many nights in one of their hotels for a stay in August or September, they give you a free Dining Plan. That means you get a free counter service meal, a free dinner service meal, and a free snack for each day of your visit. So I would recommend looking into that. If you stay in a Disney hotel they will also take you to and from the airport for free. Upon arrival they will also go and get your bags for you off the carousel. Staying in a Disney hotel really does have it's perks. They also have a thing called Extra Magic Hours, where if you stay in their hotel, on certain nights the parks stay open late and only guests of the hotels can stay in the park. That means much shorter lines.

I hope this helps some! Have fun!

My husband and I are going to Disneyworld, since we never had a honey moon. What are some good legit sites to get packages for a stay there at a good price?|||The first time we went to Disneyworld we got a package, but since then I've found that it's less expensive to plan it yourself. We saved a lot on future trips to DW that way. Go to Disney.go.com and order the DVD. Then choose an on site hotel according to your budget. The on site hotels cost more, but it's worth it. You won't need a car, and the atmosphere is magical. If you are a teacher or a nurse you can stay at the Swan or Dolphin (on site, but not owned by Disney) for a big discount. Disney also has military discounts. Buy passes from Disney directly so that you know what you are getting. Other places may not be reputable. Don't get a dining plan unless you plan on eating at sit down restaurants a lot. It's lots cheaper to do it yourself and eat at the fast food places. We found that we only wanted 2 meals a day. Carry snacks and water. Plan carefully. Know exactly what you want to do at each park, or you'll be overwhelmed and do a lot less. We had a hopper pass, but found it more convenient and a time saver to go to one park per day anyway. Congratulations on the delayed honeymoon! Have a wonderful time!!|||For any of the packages Walt Disney Travel is the main one you need to go through. Now, there are vendors who also sell these packages. The major ones include AAA, CostCo. There are also some travel agencies who specialize in Disney packages.

Some things to know about how Disney charges for packages. The longer you are there the less you pay per day, with the bigger discounts starting at about 3 days or longer. They also have add-on's that you can get. The one I would definatly recomend is the Park Hopper option. This one allows you to go between the different parks on the same day. If you do not get this option you are restricted to 1 park per day. The other options you may find are really not needed. The first is the WaterPark & More option. This gives you admission to the water parks and Disney Quest. If you plan to go only once you may do better without this option, but if you want to go multiple times this may be a good option for you. The most expensive option is the No-Expiration option. With out this option your tickets expire 14 days from date of first use. If you purchase this option any of your unused days never expire. Generally this is an option you don't really need.

The ticket prices are the same price all year, the difference is in the hotel costs for the period of time you want to go. Also, during some parts of the year they offer other incentives such as a free dining plan or park hopper option.

As to if you decide to purchase a Dining Plan. The Dining plan includes 1 Table Service, 1 Counter Service and 1 Snack per day. However, if you don't use the Table Service credits per day, or a majority of the counter service credits you can usually do better without the dining plan and go on your own.|||Really go to the Disney web site. Every travel agent I check into gave me the same price I could do by myself on the Disney site.
Stay in the park is my best advise. I have stayed both off and on Disney site. I will never stay off site again. Too much time wasted on getting back and forth. Too many headaches.

Staying at Disney is a lot easier for a first-time visitor. There are several Disney travel agents that can find deals that no one else can because they specialize just in Disney! I have heard lots of good things about one called Kingdom Konsultants which is online, but you can search for Disney authorized agents and any of them would be ok.|||Check with your local CAA/AAA if you are a member

I want to talk to my parents about me and my two best friends who are also 16 ride the greyhound bus to stay with my grandparents for a few days so we can go check out the colleges in their area and go out to visit my aunt and uncle for two days out on their farm. It is at least a day to go there on the bus, but my grandpa said he would be okay with it. I have the money to pay for half my greyhound ticket and we could borrow my grandpas car while we are out there to go to the farm and to the colleges since my friends have their liscenses. It would be a 5 day trip. How can I convince my parents to let us go? I am taking an Estrella Blanca bus from Mexico City to Nuevo Laredo Mexico. I need to know what the address of the bus station is in Nuevo Laredo and if in the same bus station I can get a greyhound ticket or is there a whole seperate bus station for greyhound?

Another question is... has anyone ever went to Nuevo Laredo by bus and went to the bridge and crossed into Laredo Texas walking? If so how does that work and how far is the greyhound station in Laredo from the bridge?

Or how far is the Nuevo Laredo bus station from the bridge to cross?|||The best thing for you to do is to take a taxi coming out from the bus in Nuevo Laredo to Bridge #1. It should be like a 10-15 min. drive. Then you can cross walking and get to the Greyhound station in Laredo.

    Be safe...

So I have two best friends who live in my home town, I moved away from them a couple years ago and I'm coming back to visit tomorrow. My one best friend I see more often because she is never busy, so whenever I am in town I see her. She is also broke, has been for a year and for the past year I pay for every meal, drink, greyhound ticket and outing we go on! But she's always there for me emotionally.

My other best friend I barely ever see because she works two jobs and is always busy. I am going to lunch with her tomorrow, I am very excited to see her because I haven't seen her since New Years. Since she has two jobs she always has money to pay her own share of what ever we do together so its competely fair.

Is it okay that this time I am not inviting my broke friend to lunch (whome I see much more often) because I know she will sit there and guilt me into buying her a meal|||Well, it's not your fault that your broke friend doesn't have a job so she can pay her own meal. Plus, it's who you want to hang out with, it's perfectly fine.|||would it have been ok for you if he wasn't inviting you|||its ok. I am that friend who always forks out the money- i feel bad if i do, and i feel bad if i don't. just do something else with your other friend like to go to a park for a homemade picnic lunch, or something else cheaper. its ok to do this. you can't afford to pay for everything, and you shouldn't have to. just make sure to do something else... that can cost little to no money. if your near a beach- thats always good, but make sure to make sandwiches before you go, and don't worry about you paying the gas places if you drive... u woulda had to drive there n e ways... so yah... hope this helps|||I have been on both sides of that issue, as the one who is broke and the one who has cash. If you don't want to invite the other friend, then don't do it. She will get over it if it upsets her. You should just go and enjoy your time with the other person.

I took 3 day greyhound bus from Florida to California. Once I got to San Jose, I was walking to the local bus station to take the bus home. I hadn't shaved in 3 days and had bags with me, so I probably looked homeless. I was standing with about 5 or 6 other people at the bus station, when a cop on a bike came up and asked me for ID. I said "Why" and he said I fit the description of a suspect he was looking for.

He asked where I came from, I told him I just got off the greyhound from Florida. I then showed him my greyhound ticket with my name on it. He then asked where I was going and who I live with. I said I was going home and I live alone. Then he asked me what I do for work, and I said I work online and run websites. He then said "are they porn sites?", I said no. At this point it was embarrassing because I was standing with this group of people looking at him ask me all this stuff. We had about 5 minutes before the bus would get there, and he stood there and made sure I got on the bus after all of this, like I'm a kid or something (I'm 28).

Was he just doing his job, or did he take it too far? Would you feel harassed in a situation like this?|||He was just doing his job. In many cases, the cops will take you down to the station in those circumstances.

Edit: He was doing his job by investigating someone who looked like a suspect. He determined that you probably weren't the person he was looking for, and he made sure that you got on the bus so that no other cop would stop you for looking like that suspect.|||Do you normally take 3 day trips to turn around and ride back home?|||Not really since cops are allowed to talk to people. You can't claim harassment because your pestered by someone who is a cop on duty. Harassment would be if he searched you and your bags and detained you unreasonable.|||He was doing his job. Just forget about it and move on with your life. One incident does not constitute harassment.|||If you matched a suspect as he stated, it was appropriate for him to briefly detain you in order to determine whether you were the suspect. Absent verification of his suspicions he could not arrest you or take you to a police station. Once he had sufficient information to show you were not the suspect, and absent any other basis for believing you committed a crime (which was probably the situation once you showed him your ticket), further detention and questioning was improper. The "porn site" question was to my mind particularly out of line. Maybe he thought he was just joking around at that point, but it was still inappropriate. He had no basis for requiring you to get on the bus if you did not wish to do so.

I have a long distance relationship and because my boyfriend is scared of the city he doesn't want to move here like we planned on doing. The greyhound ticket I bought for him is now going to waste because he's scared. On top of that, I have to be the one to move there after I get out of college. I have to take a huge risk moving to a small city that doesn't have a bus system or taxis and I may not even find a job there once I move. Every time we plan on seeing each other I have to be the one to get on the greyhound to go see him because he's scared of taking the bus and getting lost. I'm sick of this! Why do I have to be the one to put up with everything while he's sitting in his safe zone?|||You're asking everyone but the right person here. If you feel like he's not being a man then you need to talk to him about it. He needs to see how you are seeing him and he needs to know how you feel about his fears. Are you scared about certain things too? Maybe he needs to see that you are scared too. He's letting his fears matter more than yours and he most likely doesn't even see that. Don't let these other people say that you should just leave because he's not being a man. A man isn't scared to admit his fears. The main problem here is the fact that he doesn't seem to understand that he won't do for you what you do for him. Talk to him about that. See if he understands it and then decide on whether or not you should leave.|||Sounds like a load of bull to me... How old is he? Honestly he needs to man up it's not fair to put all the pressure on you to make all the sacrifices. Sounds like he's just not willing to make the effort and it will be hard and it will hurt but do you really want a guy who won't even sit on a bus for you? Broke his promises? It's not fair to you at all and he should know that. Besides, from experience I can say that, sooner or later, long distance relationships break down.|||Well how i see it, he doesnt care about you so much. If he doesnt risk a litlle for you then he is not worth it. I know long distance is hard to manage but if you both dont flex then nothing will happen.

i know i sound harsh but thats how it sounds|||You should probably date an actual man.|||if it was me i would leave him simple because girl
for number one i have a P*ssy and i wouldn't wanna have to take care of another P*ssy lol
    = too much drama!

and how dare he have a female travel to come to him! now that is dangerous
because in a relationship it takes 2 and i think he is being a selfish P*ssy A** person :)

Before I give the details, if who ever not willing to read the details, than don't answer the question. If you do anyway, it's insulting.

I generally see legal immigration as a good thing for a nation as long as all sides are winning. In the current economic state the United States is in right now though, does it really make sense to have many new people living in America? Unemployment continues to rise - it's in between 5 and 6 percent now. Many of the immigrant's who come to this country do blue collared work (i.e. factories, construction) where many lay offs exist.

Obviously if the immigrant did not have a job in America, they wouldn't have been allowed to immigrate here. Not initially at least. What really annoys me is the constant BS of ''illegal immigration.'' Do people really think a random Mexican immigrant in New Jersey literally walked accross a border and got an expensive Greyhound ticket to live in a studio where they don't have a car or good public transportation?

This would only apply to Mexico anyway. Mexico's southern border is secured and there'd be no physical way anyone else could enter this country without legally going through an airport. I believe this is used as a ''scapegoat'' to brush people away from the idea of ever questioning if legal immigration is necessary for America.

I am not against legal immigration nor do I purpose a moratorium. What I am proposing is that the U.S. should minimize the number of legal immigrants that are to come into America until our economy shapes up. No matter how well the economy does or not, people from Mexico, central America, China and other parts of Asia will continue to be interested in coming to America for political pressures or over-population.

People from more stable economic places such as the West Indies, South America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East have become less interested in coming to America in the last few years because they don't have to come. It's more of a want - and usually they'd prefer western Europe and Canada.

It's projected they'll be 430 million people in America in 1950 which is a lot. It can compromise the future of social security and a possible system of socialized medicine and/or college education. Should Montana become as industrialized as Ohio? Should Minnesota get densely populated like New Jersey? These are all things people really need to think about.|||I believe we will have to take it seriously eventually. You remember the Mexican repatriation program? Well, the same economic conditions that existed during that time period are returning, so something will be done eventually. I don't think there will be a second repatriation program, but I think something will be done. America has dealt with this type of problem before.

I believe immigration is good, in moderation. But it is kind of excessive when your country's demographics almost competley change in a matter of a few decades.|||US Born Americans have an a birthrate below 2.17. That means the population is decreasing.|||This is why I don't plan on living or working in the US when I'm done with college. |||It's 2008 and we have a little over 300,000,000 people and according to you it was projected 430,000,000 by 1950. China and the U.S. are about the same size in fact it's debatable which is bigger, and China has about 1.7 billion people.

The problem isn't that people are reproducing too much it's that the population keeps getting older and lasting longer.|||Americans are having less children than ever now. The birth rate is still higher in the US than in other western countries, but it's still considered to be low. You should have ranted about this to people after WWII, the baby boom years.|||I think you meant 2050. The US population, as with most developed nations, is slowing. There's reasons for that. Most developed countries that see increases in population are the result of immigration.

430 million would not be overpopulated. There is plenty of room. We are just too densely populated. (both figuratively and literally.)

Eliminate the minimum wage and mandatory federal retirement program and almost all illegal immigration "problems" go away.

It's simple, if the economy is in a position that illegals cannot find work there is no attraction for them to come here.|||We are only 10% as dense as Germany. We are only .5% as dense as Singapore. We are not densely populated. Immigration allows people to share ideas and culture and breeds peace throughout the world. Immigration is also a humanitarian issue and we do not do enough in regards to that. For example, we have created literally millions of refugees fleeing Iraq, but we have only accepted around 200 into our borders.

its just that I need to start over.
I'm not running from a crime or debt.

I'm very scared and I want to feel safe.

I only have about $1500 on me.

I would very much like to live in California,
    preferably Davis.

or a place thats very warm, since i can't pack many clothes.

I do not have a car, I would buy a greyhound ticket.

I really have consider all options, and even tried collecting evidence against the people who hurt me.

i realize this may sound a little messed up at first, but please just read to the end before responding... i just got a juror qualification questionnaire and im trying to figure out a way to get out of it. i dont do well in crowds or under pressure and i have panic attacks all the time, but i've never been to a doctor for it so i cant use that, they arent going to care. i also have panic attacks driving on highways, and it aint like the court house is just down the street, its 2 1/2 hours away, but once again the court isnt going to care because they'll expect me to force someone else to drive me or to buy a greyhound ticket to get there, but once again, ride on a bus by myself with a bunch of creepy wierdos for 3 hours? that has panic attack written all over it... i believe these are all legit reasons, but like i said, the court isnt going to care since i cant get a note from a doctor. so, im considering marking the little circle that says "i request that the court excuse me permanently" and saying something like "the only time i've ever appeared in a court room was as a victim of incestual rape and due to the emotional trauma i dont think i'll ever be able to step foot in a court room again." which, by the way, is totally true and probably the reason i get panic attacks, i just feel like a dirtbag using that to my advantage to get out of jury duty... anyways, do you think they'd accept that as a reason to be excused? if so, is there a better way that i can word it? i plan on giving them the offenders information so they can look it up if they want to and know im not just making it up. i'd also share that he's been convicted of more crimes than i can count and is currently in prison, and i believe anyone like him should be shot in the face and sent right to hell. they dont want biased jurors... right?|||If you suffer with panic attacks then that possibly would be enough to have you excused, but you would probably need a doctors note for this. See your doctor and describe how you are feeling - and tell them how you are scared about going back into a court room because of your past experience. It's not enough just to assume that people don't care. If you have a legitimate reason you should not be afraid to tell them about it. :-)|||You'll need a doctor's note to be excused from jury duty under those circumstances. • It's my last Christmas at home and my parents want to double my Christmas money from $250 to $500 this year.

In May I am heading off to live with another relative, and I can only take two suitcases and a bag with me. I will never be able to come back and get the rest of my stuff, and I have no plans to. Waay too expensive.

Anyhow, my parents have this preconceived idea that they will somehow be able to afford to drive me there, which I know that they wont, and they think that I will be able to take everything I own. In other words, getting stuff for Christmas shouldn't be a problem.

In all seriousness, there's probably a 5% chance that they'll drive me and I will be able to take everything. 95% chance that my relative will be paying for a 1-way greyhound ticket.

At this time, everything that I want to take fits safely inside my suitcases. My bedding, clothes, 2 desk lamps, and 2 photo albums. The only material thing that I wanted for Christmas was a bookstand, and I already have that now.

I'm not taking any chances on the whole Christmas thing; I'm not going to buy a whole bunch of stuff and waste my christmas budget, only to end up having to leave it all here, 1500 miles away from where I'll be in 6 months.

There's nothing that I really want now, anyway! I have my laptop, nice camera, tripod, ipod, clothes, and bedding. What else do I need right now? Nada!

Next fall I start college (I'll be living with the relative until I head to my dorm, and he lives 10 minutes from campus) and I want to just save my christmas money until then, so that I can buy some last minute things that I need, and a new outfit or two.

How can I convince my parents to just give me cash for Christmas?

Additionally, I would have to convince them to allow me to write my relative a money order for the cash, and mail her the money order, because if I keep it here my parents will simply take it all back once they're broke again. How do I convince them of that??

  • So I met my fiance online and i was 16 turning 17 and he was 20 turning 21, and he lived in Colorado Springs and I in Las Vegas. After talking to him for a while my birthday rolled around and he asked me what I wanted and I told him I wanted to met him in person and that day he called his job and told them he would be gone for a week and then took off for Vegas. So about half way there its getting dark and he think he has missed the turn off for whatever..well he tries to catch the turn off and he ends up driving off a 10 foot cliff and completely totals his car..lucky he walked away with not even a scratch so there he is in the middle of no where and he has to walk back a mile to this little town and there he basically scraps his car and buys a greyhound ticket to go the rest of the way so he wouldn't miss my birthday. So he makes it to Vegas and it was love at first sight i swear to god. after that first meet we saw each other about 5 times a year and we were long distance for 2 years then i moved in with him. then he asked me to marry him and how we are engaged and are getting married in 5 month. Then i start talking to this guy and at first it was friendly... but then we started to fool around my fiance doesn't even no I'm talking to another man and the guy I'm talking to doesn't know I'm engaged..and he says hes totally in love with me so i have two guys that are in love with me and I'm engaged to one.. and honestly i don't want the other guy I'm so in love with my fiance its just that he works so much my fiance. and i get lonely and the other guy was there to comfort me and i don't even talk him seriously like he is nothing compared to my fiance hes kinda just like a guy i talk and hang with when I'm lonely really. so what should i do?|||Well, obviously your fiance loves you because he left Colorado Springs to come see you all the way in Las Vegas and proposed. Think about this for a minute. If you truly "love" your fiance, why would you even touch another man let alone think about one? Thats just wrong and you should feel guilty because your fiance did nothing to you but try to make you happy and apparently he wants to spend the rest of his life with you so what are you gonna do about this other guy that you been cheating with? Do you have feelings for him or was it just because "you were lonely"? Hunn, just because hes always working doesnt mean that he doesnt think about you and cant wait to come home and see you. Hes working so he can support you and himself. What do you think he would do if he found out? He came all the way from Colorado Springs just for your birthday. This man loves you and cares about you, you need to tell your fiance about this. Sit him down and tell him how you feel and maybe you could get a job to soo you dont feel soo lonely and you wont cheat on him again. If the other guy me and absolutely nothing to you then end it asap and loose his number. Dont play your fiance like that, you can really hurt him and he doesnt deserve that. Be loyal and honest. Think about what your doing and think about the consequences, he could end the marriage if he finds out himself. Soo if i was youu, id take my advice and talk to him about it but tell him how glad you are to have and how much of a mistake it was and it'll never happen again. I know its hard, and i know what your going through. Next time, think before you do. I hope all turns out well and you have a wonderful wedding.

Goood luck!!|||If you don't want this other guy, end it. Tell him you don't want to see him anymore. Otherwise, I think you have to come clean to your fiance and tell him what is going on. This probably ruins your chances of marrying him.|||You should be ******* ashamed of yourself, no matter what the problem is either end it or work through way, instead of cheating, shame on you.|||try being faithful make up your mind which one you want|||you say good things about your boyfriend hun....but if he is that good of a person then why string along another bloke.....thats no excuse hun for being bored.

You can either tell your friance and see what happens, you could stop talking to this bloke and drop him altogether or break up with your fiance for this bloke.

you really need to decide.|||Let the other guy know you've made a mistake. Your engaged to another man and your 100% true to him. The other guy might be pissed but who cares your ending it with him anyway. Your fiance probably works alot to support you and you should like that. At least he has a job and wants to work.

Can anyone answer this question please?
I am taking an Estrella Blanca bus from Mexico City to Nuevo Laredo Mexico. I need to know what the address of the bus station is in Nuevo Laredo and if in the same bus station I can get a greyhound ticket or is there a whole seperate bus station for greyhound?

Another question is... has anyone ever went to Nuevo Laredo by bus and went to the bridge and crossed into Laredo Texas walking? If so how does that work and how far is the greyhound station in Laredo from the bridge?

Or how far is the Nuevo Laredo bus station from the bridge to cross?

Any help would be great!!!|||By far I recommend you to take a plane instead a bus, mexican highways are not very safe in this moment.

You can take a bus of Autobuses Americanos that go throughout the northern states of Mexico and the southern states of USA.

The Ladredo bridge is far from the bus station. In fact Laredo has two international bridges.

You can take a taxi in the airport.|||I'm familiar with the same question relating to Reyenosa, MX & Mc Allen, TX. The Reyenosa bus station has a bus that goes every 20 minuted to the border & then on to Mc Allen. Upon arriving at the border, one gets off with their luggage & proceeds through U.S.Customs.

The bus then pulls forward & you re-board for your trip to Mc Allen. I hope this helps. It couldn't be much different for Neuvo Laredo.|||Actually you can take the Greyhound bus from Nuevo Laredo to your destination in the U.S.

I know a lot of people will be judgmental to our decisions.. But that's okay everyone is entitled to their opinions... I am young.. And with a man who has been in the military 2 years already.. He plans onmaking it a career, he wants 20 years in the service. So here we go. She calls me and tells me he's my new bf haha. Just joking you know. We met later that night when I went to go pick up my mom at the station saturday and offered him a ride home. We started to texted and talk by sunday morning we were a couple, later on in the day he told my mom and I he wanted to marry me before he leaves, but there wasn't enough time he left within 3 days and I work 2 jobs and also run my own business... So it didn't happen.. But he said when he comes back from georgia in december that that's when we would get married.. So we're engaged technically because ipromised to be there for him. After getting married we'd leave to Germany for 6 months before he was deployed for 15months in afghanistan... But I'm having a hard time thinking this is for real. When we talk at night he says babe I am dead serious about this please wait for me.. But the whole communication part is difficult because I call atthe time he says but he answers and I ask if he's in bed and he says yes I'm really tired.. So I was so okay with dating him and loving him dearly. I wanted to be the one to help him become who he wanted to become. B/c Im like really feeling him totally. BUT.. I completely didnt realize he still has his gang street ways and that would tear our relationship. He went from stealin my credit cards and buying his x a greyhound ticket behind my back to come to visit him and a couple expensive outfits, made copies of my house & car keys w/out my consent. I realized at this point homeboy got issues like most of us but this issues are CRAZY!! I been trying to rid of him now for weeks. Ive already called the police on him. They cant catch him for nothing. I mean 13 cop cars and 1 man got away !! I only called the cops b/c I wake up one late night, to get something out my car and come to found out ..I had no car. Althou we are broke up now for about 2 weeks. And he is full aware. So thats how I found out he made a copies of my keys. I reported my car stolen and this fool is pulling up while Im filing my police report. Smokin, drankin in my CAR, just chillen.he was actually brining me my car back. He admits to doing this almost everynight. I had no clue. Im all cozy in my bed and he's probly doing a drive by in my car. Ive never even noticed anything different about my car when I wake up early to go to work. Its crazy. But I seem to always jus let whatever he has done to me go b/c Im scared. He was such a nice guy and very friendly, talking to me a lot and keeping my company since I was alone (A bit good looking too)

My question is.. I tried searching him on "My Life" and of course he comes up, but they want me to register and pay monthly fees of $11. Does anyone know of a FREE service that will allow me to get his email or info??

EVERYTHING i searched says he is a Cop in Jacksonville, FL. He was going to West Palm Beach from Jacksonville on the bus. He got off in West Palm, and I was headed to Ft Lauderdale which was the very next stop.

I think its VERY odd that he left this book.. he kept saying how great of a story it was and how he loved reading.. Odd.|||Why don't you try 411? If he's listed, you could get a phone number.

So my birthdays coming up and i asked my mother if my boyfriend can visit me for my birthday i'll help her pay half of his ticket fee. She was like yeah sure but you don't have to help me pay i'll pay it myself . So i said okay , but i received 150 dollars from my father i gave my mother 100 dollars out of that money and the next day i gave her 20 dollars because i didn't want her paying for his greyhound ticket all by herself he is my boyfriend you know.. She spent it all on god knows what , most likely to go clubbing .. SO i asked her today is she still purchasing the ticket she said i don't know ... after i have her 120 dollars to help her pay for it she spent it now shes most likely not buying the ticket i tried to help her pay for...|||you really aren't wrong to be mad about this, but i'm afraid i dont really know what other advice to give except to keep asking her about it and remind her of what youve given her

In 2008 I moved from California to Florida and rented a room at my friend's house. I lived there until March 2010, when I moved back to California. I filed my 2009 FEDERAL taxes in California and listed my California address as the address I was currently living at, at the time of filing. But just because I filed from California doesn't mean I was living there the previous year. Now the state of California says I owe them taxes on all the money I made in 2009, because they saw that I filed my 2009 FEDERAL taxes from a California address. I work online and receive money through paypal so I have no paychecks from an employer or anything. I live competely off the books and rent rooms with cash. I have no way to prove that I lived in Florida, but they have no way to prove that I was in California when I really wasn't. All I have is a receipt for my greyhound ticket from Florida to California, but that doesn't prove anything, only that I was in Florida for at least a day. I registered to vote in Florida in 2008, but that doesn't prove anything either.

What would you do if you were me?|||Contact an enrolled agent (better than contacting a CPA). Work with them to solve the problem|||if you filed your 2009 1040 in Calif, they take it that you are a Calif. resident and are liable for taxes on all sources of income, even if some of it was earned in Fla
you probably need to file a 540 NR indicating the dates you entered or left Calif., this is a separate schedule|||What would I do? The short answer: Keep better records in the future.

Longer answer: What could I do? I'd first consider my options. Then take the best one. If you call the IRS and explain your problem, they will have someone talk to/listen to you about it. You might be able to convince them of your position.|||your registration to vote in Florida does prove something if you have proof of the registration. You should also have a driver's license from FL and should have had car insurance there. Your insurance agent from FL should be able to provide documentation.|||File a 2009 California nonresident tax return, correctly showing $0 earned in CA and $0 of CA tax due.|||File a correct California Form 540 or 540NR that shows what your California wages were.

  • I live in Rochester (it's a big city in NY) and I'm trying to get away from home, I have a pretty complex family situation right now. I've got $200 saved from some fiber artwork I sold and I'm thinking about buying a Greyhound ticket to Ft. Collins, CO or San Fransisco, CA because I have relatives there. I know that you have to be 15 to buy a ticket, but I look much older (not in a slutty way). My boyfriend Israel said he'd try to help me and maybe even go with me. He has a very free thinking grandmother in San Leandro who's a social worker, and might be willing to help us out (we are both having problems at home...). Israel also looks older for that matter.

What do you think I should pack?

Are there any organizations I can contact?

Should I pack things I can sell?|||To be honest - it doesn't matter how old you look, inside you are still a 13 year old girl. No matter what you're family problems just stick it out until you can get yourself a job - then you can leave. You could get into major trouble if you are found out and not only you, your boyfriend too. His grandmother could lose her job. Do you really want this?

However if your stuck on it, let the relatives know that you want to live with them first, you should pack things you need to live with first and then if there's any room pack things that are worth more to sell. $200 wont get you very far..

No matter what your problems, if you run away the people you live with now will be very worried and probably get police involved to find you if you don't tell them where you are going.|||Don't go!!!... $200 dollars will last you about a week, and you will not be able to find work at such a young age. Just deal with your family situation as best as possible, or if it is too bad you should contact a family social worker in your area.

Hang in there and Good Luck to you!|||If it is that bad you should tell someone at your school, usually a trusted teacher and ask for help.

You can also go here http://www.1800runaway.org/ or call 1-800-621-4000 before or if you do leave.

Stay safe.|||Stay home and listen to your parents. You are only 13 and they know best. Move out when you are 18|||You should not go. 200$ is not enough money to last you very long. After you buy a ticket you will have even less. And you are a female so what about those issuse you have to spend on and food. if it is really hard for you at home, like abuse, go to the police or a teacher. Do not just leave on your own because if your family looks for you and the police find you they will return you home anyway and at that point you do not want them to think that you are being untruthful when you do try to explain why you ran away in the first place.ACS can remove you immediately if neccessary. Also think about what the problems are a little more and if the situation is not abuse and just "teen issuse" maybe you can work through them. Running away and being on your own is an adult decision so make sure you are thinking like and adult about the whole situation. Take care.|||If his grandmother is a social worker, I hope her 'free thinking' isn't keeping her from remembering that she could find herself being arrested for keeping you without your parents approval or helping you to run away from home. She should know how to handle your situation legally. Plus there are all sorts of perverts out there who would 'pick up' a 13 year old girl or 15 year old boy trying to sell stuff on the street, regardless of how old you both think you look. The $200 won't get you very far. You didn't give any real details. If there's abuse, contact the police or social services or child welfare agency in Rochester.

and then toronto to guelph?|||Not much at all. The greyhound is cheap to travel a long distance, short distance will barely be anything.
Oh, booking in advance always saves a lot.

I got the greyhound bus from Montreal to Vancouver and it cost me $90. They always charge more for tickets if you just walk into a greyhound station and purchase it.
Like the other person said, you didn't state when you wanted to go and that makes a difference to price.

Its a long story im really not in the mood to talk about.
Bye this isn't on impluse cuz ive been thinking about this for months. Im trying to work out the best possible plan. Soooo could you guys help?
Alright so ive saved up a couple hundred dollars, but i know that wont last long. How can i spend my money wisly so that i can live a decnt life? Im in Georgia, but im trying to move down to florida, and try and get an apartment/ job. and maybe take an online high school so i can at least finish high school if i can. I was thinking of buying a greyhound ticket down to florida, buy a cheap motel for like 2 days while i try and find a job. but i don't know what else to do from there. PLEASEEE help. I seriously can't live at home any more. Everytime i get off the bus after school, i start crying, because i don't want to go home THAT bad. And the police never do anything. So how can i make the best of my life without getting into prostitution/ drugs?
Im a freshman in high school btw...|||Couple of hundred dollars, huh? Not giving yourself much of a chance there Chuckles. Just tough it out. Find a job and save, save, save. Wouldn't you rather struggle now than struggle later. Right now you're just doing time....like all of us. Hang in there.|||Freshman means you are 16? Dear, what kind of a job can you get, and consider how little you will make. You won't even be able to afford an apartment by yourself. You need to ask a school counselor about what can be done to improve life at home....ask for HELP, and don't mince the words! It will be better than taking off into a world you are not prepared for yet.|||Get somebody to pack you a lunch. It helps.|||It isn't worth it; I know it's hard. I came from a rough home too. A couple hundred dollars wont last long at all, MAYBE a couple days. If you don't already have a stable job, get one. I dont know what the legal working age there is but I got a fast food job at 14 to make some money but also to have a few nights away from home. It wasn't the greatest but a job. If you run away you will get in trouble, it's just not worth it. They will look at you like some troubled teen trying to rebel which I know isn't fair. Just try to stay at friends' as much as possible, get through school cuz you need that to get anywhere in life and keep your head up. 3.5 years goes by alot faster than you would think, as long as you pass every grade you can be out of the house in that time. The state I'm from you aren't an adult til you are 19, but I graduated highschool, and where I work I became an Assistant Manager when I turned 18, 2mos before graduation and got my own apartment a month and a half after graduation. Which I didn't need a cosigner for because of my income. You can either take the wrong route and make bad choices now and not get anywhere, or take your bad home life as a grain of salt and know you don't want to be like that when you grow up, break the chain.|||And how long do you think you will last with couple of hundred dollars ?^^
That is not wise at all.

Don't DUHH me I know what I am talking about, I ran away at age 11 first time and at 16. I was in the streets for months during the winter and starved !!!!!!!!!!!!
What if you do not find a job ? ^^ Then what will you do ?!
How many immigrants do you know that came to the US with $ 20 and are millionaire !!
You are being unrealistic with the job market the way it is now. End of story.

    Hey.

I met a girl online and after several months of talking me and her had met in Person. She and I had hit off rather quickly when we first spoke online. She isnt the average girl and im not the average guy, alot of girls are not like she is, which makes her more special.

Problem is, we live about 1.5 hours away from each other, at present we dont have cars (we're both 19) but i am working on a method to obtain a vehicle so I can go see her. At Present the Greyhound bus was the method used. I was really flattered that she came to see me!.

What i was wondering is, she she said wants it to work and so do I, but with the distance im worrying about "obsticles" getting in the way.

Anyone have a "distanced" relationship before? what are some tips to make it work until something can be arranged for relocation?. This is slightly different than a long distance relationship as all it takes is a greyhound ticket to see her/her see me, even just for the day.|||Listen to me alright ? You can only do right now the best that you can do, If that means riding a bus for 2 hrs, hey, thats nothing.

Like this. pretty simple right. You and her both know that, I know
It's stinks right now, But thats right now ok, The situation will
Change it's just a matter of time thats all my friend. don't worry. I'm in a long distance relationship with a woman and she stays in the UK, So think about what your saying ? It's only 2 hrs. thats nothing, I have to save my money in time and have started making plans for a vaction to England in the future to see my gal. And i've been talking 2 her for over 5 months online, hey, it's just a matter of time for me.|||iv been in one for almost 2 years.. at 3 1/2 hours apart. and only i drive right now. it can be rough. try getting online and playing games on yahoo while on the phone, or watchign something on netflix or hulu, or maybe funny youtube stuff. make a date out of it|||I was on vacation in Nebraska for a couple weeks when I lived in Florida (23 hour drive away) and I met a girl at a restaurant. We went out a couple times when I was on vacation, and we became serious.

It is now eight months later, and I just moved to Nebraska and about to go to school here. We've had our fights, and it's tough especially since I lived so far and never saw her, but it's been worth it.

I'm 19. She's 22.|||You need to just go for it. 1.5 hours is nothing! There are plenty of people who make commutes that long twice a day, EVERY day.|||Me and my boyfriend met online. We lived 1000 miles apart at the time. So even though both of us have cars, seeing each other was pretty much impossible. Even after we met in person, he had to go back, so again we were 1000 miles apart (and I'm not exaggerating. It was really 1000 miles, or about 15 hours). So to me, your situation doesn't seem that bad.

Here's some tips. Keep seeing her as often as you can. Take turns taking the bus to see each other. Get a friend or family member to drive you and meet halfway. Just see her as often as you can until you can come up with a long-term solution. And be open with her. If you miss her, tell her so. You guys will be just fine.|||You are lucky. My boyfriend and I live 3000 miles away from eachother for work reasons.

We call eachother every single day. Even if its just to say hi for 10 minutes. I find it strengthens our relationship because we still feel close even though we are so far away. We talk about everything...what we did that day..who we saw... what movie we watched.

We are also huge gamers so we play xbox a lot together.

You can try watching a movie together while on the phone... write letters... send flowers...

Being in a long distance relationship doesnt mean you have more of a risk of breaking up... if anything it will make you care about eachother even more because you appreciate the time that you do spend together. .

  • I know a lot of people will be judgmental to our decisions.. But that's okay everyone is entitled to their opinions... I am young.. And with a man who has been in the military 2 years already.. He plans onmaking it a career, he wants 20 years in the service. So here we go. I live in california, been here about a year, I decided to move my mom out here with my little brothers and I, so I bought my mom a greyhound ticket while she's on her way here she meets this guy. Should I tell him to just call me when he gets the chance? Or what should I really do????!!!:(|||I am going to look at this objectively and not judgmentally....
The chances of a marriage between two people who really do not know one another lasting is VERY slim... you throw the army into the mix and the chances are next to zero. This is not to say that it is impossible, just very improbable.
He will not be deploying to Afghanistan or anywhere else for 15 months.... the Department of Defense just issued a new ruling that deployments will only be 9 months long. With the implementation of this new rule, it is unknown which units will deploy and when they will deploy. So if he is telling you that he KNOWS he will deploy for 15 months, he is mistaken!
Think very hard about whether this is the life you want... IF he moves to Germany and IF he deploys, you will be in Germany without him. IF you marry him, you will likely move often and the chances of living close to your mom and brother will be very, very small. You could end up in Germany and realize you do not really know him and that you have made a huge mistake- this would require you to find your own way back to the states.
Marrying a soldier is not for everyone. There are a lot of challenges that come with being an Army wife. There are even more challenges that come with being an Army wife when you are married to a man you don't really know.
Just think about whether any of this situation actually makes sense for the long term well being of your life. What do you have to lose by marrying him and following him to Germany? What do you have to lose by cutting ties now and moving on with your life? Answer those questions honestly and you will have your answer|||go with your gut feeling. If it doesn't sound right, then leave him alone. You say your young, then there will be plenty of time to find a Mate. If you just met him, then why rush.? Give it some time. YOu are better off finding out now if it is the real thing.

OK, a female i know/knew (Hot, Black chick and im a white guy) called me up yesterday at 9pm sharp. She is asking me for $125 for a Greyhound ticket to get from somewhere in North Carolina back here to Columbus, Ohio, Sohting about a funeral, and she is starting a job as a teacher, and she is trying to get money for a Greyhound ticket, and they do stop right in this city... believe me, i know that. I thought she said $25, then i heard $125. I was like hmmm..

Ive never smashed, but i know id like to. First date was i took her to Olive Garden. I slept the night at her house, not trying to get any the first date, some women will dismiss you if you try to make a move. I -think- shes interested, but now she is asking me for money, and this changes everything.

Im debating what to do. I was seriously thinking of DRIVING from Ohio to there to come get her, so she can do whatever she needs to do... she should be calling me soon. That way I get an 8-hour drive (How are North Carloina cops on NJ plates on highways?) and i get a LOT to go towards... gratitude!

But im definitely a newbie in this whole area. Im 27 and this girl (says name is Precious, a little younger than me but an adult though, looks like she lives by herself judging from the house) i dont know what may be going on, or how to deal with it. So im asking for some advice!

She got a nice body, seems fun enough, and DID call me from a North Carolina area code, 252 (Im gonna Google that now.)

So........ any Tips? THANKS!|||offer to give her a ride.

My best advice would be for you to keep your money and keep looking for a nice girl that won't call you and ask you for money when you really aren't a friend.
Tell "Precious" you can't help her and see what happens. I would bet she gets angry and you never hear from her again.
In that case, good to know she's not quality and you don't need that in your life.

About 2 months ago I went on craigslist in the gay section looking for a place to stay for when i ran away. Lots of nasties replied, but there was one guy. Me and him talked for about 2 weeks, and he said I could stay with him if I needed too. So, I got a greyhound ticket and left going all the way from louisiana to philadelphia. When I got there, he picked me up from the greyhound station and everything. I stayed with him for a month. Me and him really connected and, well, fell in love. However, he realized that I needed to go home, and go back to school and finish my academic life and all this. So, he pretty much forced me to leave. I had to call my aunt and she bought me a greyhound ticket to go to her in houston. So, I left. And me and him were crying of course, we knew we were going to miss each other, and I really didint want to leave. I got here about 3 weeks ago and have been staying with my aunt. I'm really depressed. I miss him so much. You guys have no idea. I cry everyday and think of him at least once every 30 mins. I am so sad. And since I got back from running away my real mom has not even wanted to talk to me. Also, I'm a genderqueer and gay boy that has not even come out of the closet yet. I'm too embarrassed to tell my aunt. But the main thing is I miss him. I can't do this anymore. I cry myself to sleep every night. Btw, I'm 14 and he is 19. However, he thought I was 16 until the day I left his place. I can't do this. I'm really considering suicide. But I just don't want it to be painful.|||** You WILL see him again **

You have to be cruel to be kind. And i can tell it has been grueling but you WILL come out on the other side - everybody does...

When you get depressed - occupy yourself... watch a movie - escape - it works for me...

Hope this has helped and I hope to hear from you...

PEACE :-)|||hey man don't do it, even though i think your a little young, at least try to stay in contact with him, maybe an email or a phone call. they say distance makes the heart grow stronger. whatever you do suicide is not the way. trust me. do what i do and drink :)|||FIRST OF ALL, you're dumb. Sometimes you do get better deals if you wait to the last minute and call them, however then you run the risk of not getting a bus the day you want. There are coupon codes out there if you can get a hold of them, they can save you some bucks. Also by calling you ask them about different discounts (they do offer military, AAA, student and such). Speaking to a live person sometimes helps they can see rate changes. Just as an FYI it will be about 2 and 陆 days on the bus.
Depending on when you are going you might be able to find a flight for the same price. Here is Greyhounds site for more:
