I had been helping my little cousin out since he lives in Texas & I live in Chicago. On one occassion, I had even purchased a Greyhound ticket for him in December of 2006 and still send him money on March 2007 another occassion. He has made no attemps to even reach me, and when I do talk to him he says he got me when he get paid, but of course I still haven't recieved a dime of the money I sent to help him. What should I do? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!|||Once you give a family member or friend money, it will be the last time you'll probably hear from them, which happened in this case. You live and learn from actions.|||You're not going to change your cousin's attitude about repaying you (he won't) so you'll need to change yours. Consider what you've done a gift with no expectation of repayment. Do that anytime you help someone and you'll never be disappointed about repayment. That's what I do and leave the loans to the banks and payday loan companies.|||Dancing Man's answer is very good. I would just add that there's no legal recourse for you to get your money back. You just need to look at it as a gift to him and move on.|||Forget it, because you'll never get the money back. Just don't send him any more money with his next sob story.
