They used to offer discounts on tickets purchased 7 or 24 days ahead of time...but those discounts and all other discounts too are now gone. There is no reason to buy your ticket more than a week or so ahead of time. There are some other companies that have re-started business recently in different parts of the sountry that you could check out. See sites below. Also, consider looking for a ride on Craigslist and post a message there too. Just go on their site below, enter your city and look under Rideshare under Community. I did this for my return trip after a truly horrid trip on Greyhound recently.
